My Captivator

My heart raced faster, almost beating out of my chest. He was getting closer by the second. I should have looked away. If I had he wouldn't be after me. I didn't know I would see that happen when I looked out the window. How was I suppose to know? I raced on, my feet and legs growing tired and sore, but I couldn't stop, not when my life was in danger.

Chapter 25

I walked out the door and headed towards the coffee shop. I kind of lied though, I wasn't going for the coffee. I had to find a way to get back to Harry. Even if he didn't love me I just had to know how he felt. I mean the pain is worse when you don't know. There isn't a day that has gone by that I don't think of him. His smile, his hair, his eyes, the way his dimples brightened up my day. I missed everything about him.

I finally make it to the coffee shop and open the door. A little bell rings and I walk to a seat back in the corner. It was always so peaceful and quiet here. I sat down and got out my new phone. My parents got it for me since my other one wasn't ever found (hint hint, the boys destroyed it). A waitress came back to me and asked if I wanted to order anything. "No, but thank you." I said.

"Anytime sweetheart, you alright? You seem kinda run down..." She was a sweet girl. Probably around 22.

"Uhm, hhhh, I'm not gonna lie to you. It's been kind of rough lately." I said trying to choke back tears.

"Why don't you tell me about it. After all it is easier to talk to someone you don't know." She said with a soft grin.

"Well, how about I tell you the important parts. It is a very long story to tell." She sat down across from me.

"Alright let's hear it."

"Okay, so about five months ago I met a guy. He's about my age, and well, let's just say I was lost and he took me in. I stayed with him and his friends for four months and then they helped me find my way back home. Well while I was there me and Har- uhm, the guy, we became closer and I started developing feelings for him." I looked down and played with my fingers.

"I don't see anything bad about having feelings for a guy." She said.

"But, when I left I didn't ever say goodbye. I've never been very good at saying goodbye so I just left him a note. And I know it wasn't a lot but it was all I could do. I just hope he doesn't hate me, you know?" She nodded. "I mean, after all these weeks away from him, well, I thought I'd be okay but I'm not! I can't stop thinking about him and I want to be close to him every chance I can.....but he...he probably has another girl.." That thought never crossed my mind until now. How could I be so stupid! Let myself fall in love and then leave! He's attractive and sweet, he most definitely should have another girl by now!

"Honey, we all make mistakes. And one of them we all do too much is worry. We worry about things so much that they end up controlling our thoughts and emotions. We can't control what goes on, but we can try to change it. Have you tried giving him a ring?"

"A what?! No I uhm, it's the guys job to propose..."

"No no no, sweetie I meant a ring, as in have you tried calling him?" She raised her eyebrows.

"Well, no. I'm too scared."

"Well what's there to be scared of? If you love him then you need to call him. Sometimes it takes one step of courage to walk a mile. I know its a bit scary, but trust me. It's all going to work out. You'll see." She smiled and I couldn't help but feel a bit calmer. And that smile, where have I seen a smile like that before?

"Thank you," I smiled. "It really did help to talk to someone."

"No problem, I've been through something like this, but..." Her smiled faded away and a sad expression came on to her face. "Mine didn't end up like you will." She said emphasizing the 'will'. "Trust me, I've been through it all, my boyfriend tried to, uhm, get rid of me. But deep down I knew he loved me, I guess it was just the wrong time to be around you know?" I nodded.

"Well, its getting pretty busy, I don't want to hold you back from working." I said trying to change the subject.

"Yeah, it was a good talk...uhm..."

"Kai." I smiled holding out my hand.

"Kai, it's was nice to meet you. If you ever need to chat or talk I'm always here."

"Thank you, uhm.."

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" She she playfully hit her head. "My names Diana, but my friends call me Ana."

"Alright, Ana it is! I better go! I can't wait until our next chat." I said smiling.

"Me neither." She smiled back. "Talk to you soon!" She said as I walked out the door. Oh! Wait a minute!!

I ran back into the restaurant. "Diana!" I said a bit to loud.

"What?" She said.

"Could I maybe have you number? You know for girl chatting?" She smiled.

"Oh course haha, but I'll need yours." I smiled back at her.

"Alright." We exchanged numbers and I was off. I had a strange feeling though. And it wasn't because I was hungry.

I made it back to my house and went up to my room. I laid on my bed and just relaxed. Some of my anxiety left when I talked to Diana. She really knows how to cheer someone up. She's really sweet, too. Maybe we could hang out sometime. I pulled out my phone and touched my message app. I typed in her number and started typing.

To Ana:

Hey Ana, it's Kai! Just wanted to get my number to you:) and thanx for the chat today, it really helped!

I pressed send and set my phone on my nightstand. She's a really sweet girl, and she helped me a lot today. I actually genuinely smiled today with her. Lately my life has felt like a dream. If only it was. Then I wouldn't truly be in love with Harry, and the boys wouldn't hate me! But along with all of this drama, I actually did learn something. It's a bit cliché but I've learned not to judge a book by it's cover. Even thought the boys murdered people for a living, they were so sweet on the inside. I do miss them but I could never go back! They wouldn't take me if I tried.

Pretty soon my phone buzzed. I picked it up and checked to see who texted me.

From Ana:

Hey girl! I was wondering how long it would take you to text me!:)

To Ana:

Haha you aren't busy right? Like you're not still working?

From Ana:

Nah, I actually got off a little after you left:) my boss let me go early today!

To Ana:

Oh, that's awesome! So I wanted to say thx about today! You have no idea how much it helped me!

From Ana:

Not a problem at all! You seen like a sweet girl, we need to hang out sometime!:D

To Ana:

Awe! Thx, and yes!!! We soooo need to hang out! Are you free tomorrow?

From Ana:

Yes!! Wanna chill at my place? I can come pick you up!:)

To Ana:

Sure sounds great! I live on Sickamoore street. Third house on the left:)

From Ana:

Alright is 3:30 okay?:)

To Ana:

That's perfect!:) see you then!

From Ana:

Okay! See you then!:)

I set my phone back down the headed downstairs to the kitchen. "Hey mom what's for" I looked around but couldn't find her. "Mom! Dad!" I yelled. I walked around and finally found a note on the front door.

'Hey baby,

Went to the store to buy things for dinner. Be back soon. There's sandwich stuff in the fridge.

Mom and Dad

Huh, dad must have stayed home from work today. I threw the note in the trash then made my way to the glory land (aka the fridge). I brought out the sandwich stuff and made a bologna and ham sandwich with mustard, mayonnaise, and lettuce. I grabbed the bag of chips out of the cabinet and walked over to the kitchen table. I sat down and devoured my food. I was starving.
