My Captivator

My heart raced faster, almost beating out of my chest. He was getting closer by the second. I should have looked away. If I had he wouldn't be after me. I didn't know I would see that happen when I looked out the window. How was I suppose to know? I raced on, my feet and legs growing tired and sore, but I couldn't stop, not when my life was in danger.

Chapter 1

"Man that was an awesome movie! How do they get the graphics to look so real?!" Caleb wouldn't shutup. Yes! I know I was there! Ugh! My date tonight was unbearably miserable. Caleb's a nice guy but he's to nerdy. He reminds me of Steve Urkle in some odd way. "And when the aliens came out of the ship! WHOA MAN! They looked so real!!!"

"Yeah it was a pretty unique movie..." I said with a slight hint of sarcasm in my voice. This is the first and last date I will ever go on with this guy.

"Unique?! No! It was unreachable by any other effects of all kinds! The graphics and all unified the whole movie into-"

"Caleb!" I interrupted him.

"I don't care about the movie! Just take me home!" I felt bad after saying that. I know he had an amazing night but my night on the other hand was awful!

"Oh, alright. I'm sorry, I know I can get a little too nerdy sometimes." His head dropped down and I felt my heart ache.

"Hhhh, I'm sorry Caleb, that was mean of me to s-"

"It's fine. Thanks for going with me tonight. I know I'm not the coolest guy ever."

"You know, it wasn't to bad." I lied. "I actually did sort of like the movie..." Wow, I am a horrible person.

"Really?!" He shot his head over to me.

"Uhm, yeah haha, amazing movie..." I stuttered in response. He turned his head back to the road and started driving again. I on the other hand looked out the window and tried to get rid of the memories from tonight.

We pulled up to a stop light and something caught my eye. A guy with curly brown hair who looked to be about my age was standing in front of another guy in an ally. I couldn't help but to wonder what was going on. Then, it happened. The curly headed guy brought out a gun from his pocket and pointed it to the other ones heart. All at once everything went into slow motion. Caleb's driving, the trees blowing outside, my breathing and most of all the gunshot. I couldn't take my eyes off of the man who now lay motionless on the ground. I tried to comprehend what was going on when I suddenly made eye contact with the curly haired boy. He looked at me, then the body, then me again. He turned towards me and started running to the stopped car. Without thinking I screamed and yelled at Caleb to step on it. He hesitated a bit then obeyed when I yelled it again. "HURRY!" I yelled. My heart was racing and pounding out of my chest!

"Why are you in such a hurry?!" Caleb yelled back. I tried to talk but nothing would come out. I was frozen in fear. "KAI!" He yelled.

"At the stoplight, back there....I saw a guy shoot someone..." I was so quiet and still in awe as I told him what I saw. "He turned and saw me watching..." Fear rose inside of me. "Caleb he's going to kill us! You have to drive faster!"

"What?! Your joking right?!? This isn't funny!"

"CALEB WHY WOULD I LIE ABOUT THIS?! I'm scared too!!! Just keep driving!"

He kept his eyes on the road and drove faster. I looked back and could still see the guy running after us. He seemed to be losing energy and was slowing down. That is until we got to the train tracks....the train was coming and we had to stop. We would have been hit by it if we hadn't. We locked the car and waited for the guy to catch up to the car. I turned around and he was getting closer and fast. He pulled out his gun right as the train moved on. We started to drive away but the tires were suddenly popped. He had shot them. We couldn't go anywhere and we were going to die. I looked over to Caleb who was just as petrified as me.

Looking me in the eyes he blurted out what I guess was the only thing positive going through his mind. "I've always loved you!" He yelled.

"What?! CALEB!! This is not the time!!!" He shot his head to the window when he heard a knock.

Caleb looks over to me and I can see the fear in his eyes. And I can tell he sees the same in mine. "It's okay Kai, it'll be okay." He tried to sound like he was conferring me but I knew inside he was trying to calm himself.

I looked back out the window and Caleb unlocked the car door and stepped out. Before I could do anything, before I could even say goodbye, a bullet was shot through his body. I watched again in slow motion as my date fell to the ground. Now laying as motionless as the guy in the ally. I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces.

I look up and watch as the guy stares at Caleb's body. His eyes then shoot to mine. Without thinking I shoot out of the car and start running for my life! I know he has a gun but I just pray he's a bad shot! My heart raced faster and faster, almost beating out of my chest. He was getting closer and closer by the second. I should have looked away! If I had he wouldn't be after me! I didn't know I would see that happen when I looked out the window. How was I suppose to know that if I looked out the car window, I would witness a murder?! I raced on, my feet and legs growing tired and sore, but I couldn't stop, not when my life was in danger.

I could hear him catching up to me. I gave it all I had and ran faster. I was almost to the city limits when I heard a gunshot. The noise threw me off guard and I tripped. I tried getting back up but heard another gunshot. I covered my head with my hands as my body began to shake violently. When I felt no pain I assumed I was not shot. I looked up and there he was standing right above me with the gun in his hand. I wasn't moving. I wanted to run so bad, I wanted to escape and get away but I was to stunned.

"Please...please let me go. I won't tell anyone what I saw! I promise!"

"Get up." His voice was low and raspy. "I said, get up!" I slowly stood up and looked down trembling in fear. He put his hand on my chin and shot my head up to his, I tried to avoid eye contact by looking the opposite way. He put his hand down and looked around us. No one was in sight. "How much did you see?!" He asked. His voice a lot calmer than it was. I made I contact then looked down. "Did you hear me?! I asked you how much you saw!" I looked down at his gun and a tear slid down my face. His gaze softened a bit. "Answer me.." He said, now in a normal tone.

"Are you going to hurt me?" I asked him, my voice shaking. He looked down to his gun and then back up to me.

"Answer my question. Then I'll answer yours." Three more tears slid down my face.

"Y-you shot Caleb..." His gaze tightened and I felt more fear coming in as more tears came out. "Please don't hurt me. I promise I won't tell anyone if you'll just let me g-"

"I can't do that....I'm afraid you're going to have come with me."

"What? No, I wanna go home! Please! I won't tell anyone! Honest!" The tears were now streaming down my face.

"I'm sorry, but it's to late. You've seen to much and I can't let you go." He looked down at his gun.

"No! Please!! Please don't hurt me! Please!" I yelled crying.

"I'm not going to shoot you..." He said calmly.

"Then, if you're not gonna shoot me then....what are you gonna do with me?" I wasn't sobbing anymore but the tears were still coming. I

"Hhhhhh....I'm going to have to take you with me."

"You''re kidnapping me?" I asked starting to cry again.

"I'm sorry miss...." He then lifted his hand up to my face and pressed a cloth to my nose. Without warning everything started getting blurring, and before I knew it, I was out like a light.
