*The Next Morning*
"Wake up sleepy head," a boy's voice whispers to me.
"Go away," I groan and flip away from the voice.
"Come on ma'am, you've got to get up sometime," Mason's voice is so sweet.
My eyes flutter open and I turn to look at him, "You don't have to wake me up. You know that right?"
"Yeah. But I wanted to. Your parents are going out today and I was wondering if you would like to hang out." One side of his mouth turns up in a smile.
I smile back, "Of course I do."
"Well, get up so the day can start."
"I'm getting up. I'm getting up."
*A Few Hours Later*
"How do you do it?" Mason asks me as we're just walking around my house.
"Do what?" I ask back before I giggle.
"How do you just do nothing and look so beautiful? You put your hair half up and it's amazing. You're amazing."
"I don't know. I just do," I shrug.
"Do you have a favorite spot in this big house?"
"Um, well there is this one place I remember I'd always go to as a kid with my friends. Well, they weren't my friends, but my father's friend's kids."
"Where is it?"
"It's down a back hallway under the steps and hidden from everything."
"Like a secret closet?"
"Let's go to it."
I smile, "Just follow me."
It takes ten minutes for me to get us to my hide out, but it is worth the time.
"This is very interesting," Mason takes a look around the small yet big closet.
"Pretty cool, right?" I ask as I sit down. There's an old bed pushed up against one wall, what looks to be a desk, a dresser, and a bookshelf with a few books.
"Yeah. It could be a room."
"I think it was. Not that I'd want to use it as a room, but it could be our get away room."
"What's going to happen when you get married? Where will you live?"
"My dad has a house right next to this one for me. I'll be designing it once I finish my school work."
"You don't want to marry someone your dad picks out for you, do you?"
"Of course not. I want to marry someone I truly love."
"Me too. So, what are we going to do today?"
"Talk about what our futures could be like if we could make it the way we want. Oh, and eat lunch. I love food. And maybe kiss. Because I've really like kissing, even though I've only kissed someone twice."
He chuckles, "Sounds like a plan, ma'am."
