Harry chose to call home to his mother and warn that they needed to talk. Niall sat quietly on the couch and seemed anything but certain.
"I go home and tell!" Harry whispered and kissed him quickly. "Sometime the truth must be told."
Niall nodded weakly.
"And I will not go with you?"
Harry quickly shook his head and smiled at him.
"No, I must do it by myself."
Anne received her son at the door and smiled at him. As always, they went into the library when it was something to talk about. She turned around and closed the door so that the servants couldn't hear what they were talking about.
"So it's serious?"
Harry nodded and swallowed.
"Mom, I'm going to go against you but I do this for my own sake."
She looked wonderingly at him and walked over to the couch. She sat down and looked at him closely.
"Do you have problems with the police?"
Harry shook his head and looked down at the floor. She was a little bit annoyed and sighed lightly.
"Now tell me what it is!"
Harry was scared, but at the same time he refused to hide who he was.
"I've met a person that I have started a relationship with."
Anne lit up.
"Oh! So what's the problem?"
Harry waited a bit and pondered carefully how and what to say.
"It's not a she, it's a he!"
Anne's smile disappeared and she just stared at him. When it dawned to her that her son really was gay, she became angry.
"You must end the relationship immediately."
He shook his head.
"No, I love with him and I will not leave him. He disappeared from my life and it made me realize how much he means to me."
She stood up and he saw that she was furious.
"I refuse to pay a lot of money for a fag!"
Harry smiled weakly.
"Then we move and get a job"
She seemed almost going crazy with anger.
"YOU get a job? You can't even clean in your home so how can you cope with a job?"
Harry looked at her and he didn't avoid her gaze.
"Mom, I've decided that I want to live with him. It doesn't matter if you threat me, take away my money or throw me out. I will not change my mind."
Anne didn't know what she would say. She stood and just stared at him coldly. When she finally got out something, she took a few steps towards him.
"You're not my son anymore."
Harry smiled weakly and he had imagined that it would end this way.
"That's okay, because you aren't my mother anymore."
Niall wasn't sure if he would be proud of Harry or feel sorry for him. It sounded weird that his mom took away the contact, but Harry was happy. He took his arms around Nialls body and hugged him.
"We're moving, I can get a job and I'll take care of you."
Niall nodded weakly and hugged him back. What would he say? In a way it was nice that Harry really told his mother about Niall, but was it worth to terminate the contact?
"It will be alright!" whispered Harry, and he knew that Niall hesitated. "She still wouldn't accept me for the person that I am. She hates gays, and she hates everything that is odd. I am odd!"
Niall shook his head and looked into Harrys green eyes. He felt pity, but at the same time, he was proud.
"No you're not odd. You're like me, a regular guy."
Harry smiled and kissed him. Whatever happened didn't matter. Niall stayed and he was the only important person in Harry's life. Harry really wanted it to be the two of them and he couldn't lie about it. He wanted instead to shout to the whole world that he was gay, that he had found a boyfriend and that he loved him.
"Where are we moving?" Niall whispered when Harry had finished the kiss.
"I don't know, but it will work out."
Niall nodded weakly.
"We will not be rich."
Harry laughed a little bit and shook his head.
"No, but we have each other?"
Harry's dad Des rang in the evening. He didn't sound happy, but he wasn't angry.
"You really have angered your mother." he said. "She's angry and has settled with a bottle of whiskey in bed."
"I just want to be honest and I want to live my life. I know you don't like that your son is gay, but I hate to have to lie."
Des was silent for a few seconds.
"Don't tell this to my mom, but I have arranged for a cheaper apartment to you. You will get a little money each month, but I have to do it on the sly. Maybe it will help you some time to find a job?"
Harry felt just a love for him. His dad didn't care about the fact that Harry was gay or not. He cared about his son and Harry was eternally grateful.
"Okay, Dad!" he got out. "Thank you!"
Des laughed a little weak and sounded unsure.
"I guess we will not be meeting for a while, but I'll try to make time to visit you."
The apartment wasn't in one of the fancy places, but the rooms were okay and newly renovated. They had to settle with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a family room and two toilets. Harry thought it looked small, but Niall shine like a sun.
"That's perfect!" he got out himself and seemed more than happy. "That's a really nice apartment and I thought we would have to stay poor."
Harry looked surprised at Niall and followed him with his eyes.
"But this is poor?"
Niall shook directly on the head and gave him a quick warning glance.
"You're talking to a guy who lived in a condemned house. We had barely elements and the kitchen looked like a rat's nest."
Harry knew he should learn to be more grateful. It was difficult to understand how Niall had lived and that he had once had a worse life. There was a big difference between the two boys, but maybe that was why they were attracted to each other?
It took them a week to move everything that they needed. Much of the furniture was left in the house and many things didn't fit. Yet it was Niall who cleaned, picked in order and behaved like a housewife. He even cooked the food, baked bread, and showed how to make lemonade. Harry was impressed and eventually he was convinced that they could cope with the new life.
