Harry didn't give up. He was out every night and day to look for Niall. It was as if he had a compulsion, but it was about that Harry didn't give up. It slowly started to get snow and one evening the whole sky white with falling flakes. Harry felt his hope began to disappear and he walks once again to the park. Still, there was no evidence that Niall was at the playground. Harry was almost sure that Niall had fled, leaving everything behind. He sat down on a bench and tried to think like Niall. Maybe he was in the subway, or perhaps that he had been caught and was in police custody? Yet knew Harry that Niall didn't break the law and he would never sleep where he could get ambushed.
Some were still out walking with their dogs in the park. Harry sat and followed them with his eyes. He wanted so desperately to see Niall again, but as time went on, the less was the chance that Niall would show up. Harry was beginning to think that Niall had gone back to his father.
Harry chose to take a walk through the streets again, then he began to freeze and he saw that the sun was about to go up. It was better to go home and maybe face facts. Niall was gone. Some streets were shovelled, other streets were still covered with snow. Harry began to notice how life was for those who didn't have much money. He understood that he had a good life and that he should be more grateful. He had taken the parents money for granted and he began to wonder if he would get a job? Harry was afraid of his old life. Parties, booze and loud music. He lavished more money on booze than what others lavished on food. Harry had as long as he could remember been with Liam and Zayn. They had been out late at nights long before they should. The girls attracted and booze was exciting. Harry had been fifteen years old when he had been affected the first time by booze. His parents just shook their heads and felt that boys were boys. Harry wished they had spoken out, they had not bothered. Perhaps they had been able to hug him and say a few kind words. It was a lot that Harry was missing, but at the same time he knew that Niall had had a worse life. Niall hadn't only lacked love, he had been without food. Niall hadn't even had clothes and he definitely hadn't been love. Harry almost started to cry when he thought about it. Niall was worth so much more than what he had. Niall was worth all the money, all the love and all that one could give him, yet had Niall decided to leave Harry. Maybe it was easier to not own anything? Perhaps it was that life Harry would live? Harry might give it all away, all his stuff, and learn how to survive, instead of getting all served on a silver platter?
Harry walked on his own street. He knew so well the houses, but he hardly knew anything about the neighbours. He lived a good life and the only one he really had let in was Niall.
Someone sat on Harry's staircase. He wasn't sure, but chose to go through the gate. He was walking towards the house but stayed away from the person. To his great surprise, he saw that it was Niall. The Irishman met his gaze and seemed anything but happy. Harry on the other hand just wanted to pounce on him and hug him. He felt the tears came and he was shaking with happiness.
"Hi!" he whispered quietly. Niall smiled weakly.
Harry took a few steps toward him. He didn't know what to say and he didn't want to scare him off.
"Forgive me! I have been so selfish." Harry got out and he meant every word. Niall looked upon him, and seemed to react to the words.
Harry shook directly on his head and wiped away the tears that had come into his cheeks. He walked towards the stairs and stopped a meter from Niall.
"I regret everything in what I did and I regret that I didn't defend you against Liam, but I told him the truth. I said I'm gay and I'm your boyfriend, but you were gone when I got home."
Niall gulped and looked down at the ground.
"I thought you didn't loved me. I thought you just wanted to use me for their own sake."
Harry shook directly on the head.
"No, Niall, I love you so much, but I was and I'm scared. I haven't been in a relationship and I don't know what to do."
Niall smiled weakly and looked up at him.
"Nor do I! I have no idea how you are against a partner, but I know that you defend the one you love. I know that you show love openly and you don't back away."
Finally Niall stood up. He walked down the stairs and stood right in front of Harry.
"I came back because I miss you. I regretted that I didn't explain."
Harry gave up! He threw himself into Nialls arms and hugged him tightly.
Niall took his arms around Harry's body and he seemed to relax.
"Yes, I think I'll stay, but you must promise not to disappoint me again."
