I walked inside my house picking up my phone off the counter. I scrolled through my text messages and phone calls, and they were all from Coach Barns. Apparently my friends really don't give a shit after all. I quickly took a shower, and then grabbed a couple bags of ice from the freezer. I turned on the TV, and set the bags of ice on my body.
I felt my cell phone buzz in my pocket, and I quickly picked it up. Jami was calling, shocker. I answered and she began squealing.
"Okay sh, what happened to you?"
"I totally got laid last night, and it was amazing." I smacked my forehead, ugh. I need normal friends.
"Good for you Jami." I said with not-so-encouraging voice.
"Hey what about you girl? I saw that hot guy carrying you out of the club last night." She laughed and I groaned.
"And you didn't do anything about it? I think he slipped some drugs in my drink or something."
"How romantic, well I gotta go me and this Chunk are going on for round 2. Cya girl!" With that Jami hung up. I really need normal friends. I groaned and adjusted the icepacks on my body. Then I felt my phone buzzing again. I looked at the screen to see a unknown number calling. I decided to answer just because I had nothing else to do.
"Hey Kamel, I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go out for lunch today and talk about some boxing stuff?" I instantly recognized his voice. Harry Styles. How did he even get my number? And who the hell gave him the right to call me Kamel?
"Kamel? I think you've got the wrong number Curly, try again."
"Kam, sorry, just thought if you got to call me a shitty name I could call you something amusing too."
"Well you don't get to, and no I don't want to go out to lunch with you, because you won't talk about boxing, you'll probably try to get me into bed or something."
"Hey why do you always think that I'm going to try to pull something on you? You're not my type anyways." I laughed, I'm not his type... good.
"Look, I'm busy later anyways, so lunch isn't going to work out."
"You're busy with what exactly? Oh sorry I forgot you got the crap beat out of you last night." He laughed a little.
"You're funny, why don't you say that to my face?"
"Sure thing Kamel, I'll be at your house in an hour to pick you up for lunch. I'll say it to you then." Before I could argue back he hung up. What the hell?! I threw my phone at the chair across from me. I hate men, and I hate Coach Barns because he was the one that probably gave my number to that whore bag anyways.
God sometimes people really know how to get on my nerves. I took the ice bags off of me and thew them in the sink. I went into the bathroom to get ready then. Yes, no matter how badly I hate him, I don't go out in public looking all beat up.
I used a lot of makeup to cover my face, and straightened my hair just so it would cover some of the bruises on my neck. Then I wore a Hoodie with some jeans. It felt awkward wearing jeans, just because I hadn't worn them in a while. I hadn't gotten beat up this bad in a long time either.
After I was done getting ready the door bell rang. When I answered, sure enough Curly was there. He was about to say something but I stopped him. "Who gave you my number and address?"
"Coach Barns gave me your number, and I used something online to track your phone, and it brought me here."
"Cheap." I walked past him to his car, and he beat me to the door, and opened it for me. I oddly got in, and he ran over to the drivers side.
"Oh um, sorry for interrupting your icing session." I punched him in the shoulder.
"Just drive." He laughed and backed out of the driveway.
"Where are we eating at today?"
"Taco Bell." I said playing with his glove box. He had a really nice car.
"And just like that we're going to Taco Bell, we're not even going to debate the fact that I wan't to go to KFC."
"You asked, and bedsides KFC is nasty."
"True, I was just craving chicken."
"Chicken does sound good, but Taco Bell is better." I shook my head then, woah we actually agreed on something. I mentally slapped myself, don't fall for this shit. Look at him, you know the stuff that he's done. Ugh I hate men.
Once we got to Taco Bell we went up to order our food. "Are you guys separate or together?"
"Separate." I said, but Harry... "Together." We looked at each other.
"I'm the man here, I'm paying for both of us." I groaned, and ordered my food, then Harry ordered the same thing as me.
"Don't play funny games Curly."
"I'm not." He laughed and we got our food and sat down. He instantly began eating like there was no tomorrow. While I just kinda sat there and stared at him like he was crazy. "What's wrong?"
"Did you like skip breakfast or something?" I laughed picking up my taco and started to eat.
"Yeah actually I did, I was kind of busy training with this chick that didn't know what she was doing." I set my taco down and wiped my hands off.
"You're really asking for a fight Curly."
"Come on fighting me isn't going to help your bruises get any better." I mentally punched him in the face multiple times. No matter what I said, he could always throw something back at me. This was getting so annoying. He was like a little brother that just bothered you constantly and you couldn't get him to go away.
Curly finished before I could even get half way through my taco. Once we were both done we went back out to his car and he began driving around. "Are we going back to my house or what are we doing?"
"I was gonna take you back to my place, I have a training area down there thought we could do something." I rolled my eyes. Yeah we could go down to your training area, and do some training. That would so happen. Besides Coach Barns told me to rest.
"No thanks, I'll pass."
"Would you rather do something else?"
"Yeah I'd like to go home and watch TV." I crossed my arms across my chest.
"That's something you don't hear from a professional boxer."
"You're really annoying, you know that?" He smiled and looked at me.
"You're just as bad as me though, I guess we both got that from Coach Barns." I couldn't disagree with him on that one. Coach Barns definitely taught me how to have an attitude It kind of came with boxing too I guess. You always think you're the best, and that nothing can bring you down.
"Just take me home please." He nodded and we drove off to my place. I was about to get out of the car, but then he stopped me. "Wait." He got out of the car and went around and opened my door for me.
Ugh... I got out of the car and he closed the door behind me. "Coach Barns asked me to train with you on Monday, want me to pick you up?" I was about to reject him, but why the hell not.
"Sure, be here 20 minutes early though, I like to warm up before Coach gets there." He laughed.
"Sure thing Kamel." I punched him in the chest.
"Shut it Curly." He waved good bye to me and I walked back inside. Boys never change.
I quickly got up and changed into sweatpants and a tank top. I walked into the kitchen and ate a banana before slipping on my tennis shoes and heading out the door. I stretched in the drive way and put my headphones in. Listening to Save Rock and Roll by Fall out Boy.
After all of that I headed out of the driveway, running. Coach told me to take a break, but I couldn't get yesterday off my mind. I'd be training with Harry Styles, and I would need to run to get stress off my back. I was humming the song when suddenly I felt my body crash to the ground.
I turned around so I was sitting on my butt, what the hell?
I looked infront of me to see somebody jogging in place. I took my headphones out and looked up to see the one person I didn't want to see. "Hey Kamel." I groaned and he held out a hand.
"You live over here too?" I said getting up myself and brushing off my butt.
"Not really, I live about 4 miles back that way." He pointed back to where his house was.
"You're running 8 miles today?"
He shook his head no. "No, 10 he smiled, want to join me?"
"No thanks, I'd rather run my route that I usually run."
"What you to weak to run the last 6 miles with me?" I shook my head annoyed.
"Okay, but just so you know if you get behind, I'm not waiting for you." A challenge? I shook my head, he won't have to wait for me. I don't have long legs for nothing. Harry took off without warning and I quickly caught up with him, putting my headphones back in in the process.
For what seemed like 2 miles was only a half of a mile. Which meant I was obviously out of shape. I hadn't really run in a while, I've just been doing workouts with Coach Barns. "You tired already?" Harry laughed jogging in place.
"I thought you weren't going to wait for me?" He laughed and I put my hands on my head trying to catch my breath.
"Maybe this is why you're such a bad boxer, you're way out of shape." He smiled and patted my back. "You'll get better some day."
"Then I'll kick your ass." He laughed.
"I wish now, but I won't have to later." With that I quickly took off, running fast. Catching him by surprise at first, but he caught up and ran my speed.
We ended up only running 3 miles before I finally got so tired I couldn't take it anymore. "Okay I'm walking back to my house." I turned around and began walking back to my house. "I'll go with you."
"I wouldn't want to interrupt your training, you know because you're going to want to get better."
"Why is that? I'm already at the top of the charts."
"Because, when I get better, you'll want to get better as well." He laughed. "Don't under estimate me, I know all your tricks." I said as we continued to walk back to my house.
"You're very determined, I like you." He joked. I punched him in the side of the arm.
"Put a shirt on sometime, would ya?" I replied, realizing that he barely ever wears a shirt.
"I wore a shirt on our date." I stopped and turned towards him.
"That was not a-." Then I was rudely interrupted by two girls running towards us.
"AH Harry Styles! Can you sign my t-shirt!" One said. "Oh my gosh I love your tattooos." Another said touching his chest.
"Woah um." Harry signed the girls t-shirt, then awkwardly pushed the other girl away that was touching him.
"Oh my god, Harry is that your girlfriend?!"
"Harry has a girlfriend! Oh my gosh and she's a boxer too Kameilia Collins!" They squealed and hugged each other. They were just like my friends... Ugh.
"No no no we're not dating." Harry said awkwardly.
"Oh I get it, you don't want your fans to find out because you love them more, Aw Harry!" They both hugged him so I looked away. Ugh fan girls.
"Well I'm going to head back home, cya later." I jogged off towards home, wanting to get away from them. I will never be his girl friend, and I never want to be. I laughed, not even if it depended on my career.
"Kam wait up!" I heard Curly yell behind me as he ran towards me. "I'm sorry about them." He laughed, but his face blushed a bright red. Woah, a tough guy like him actually has a soft side. I laughed a little. "I guess thats what happens when you're famous." He bragged a little.
"I'm surprised that boxers even get fan girls, I didn't think it was that popular of a sport."
"You'd be surprised at the amount of guys that have posters of you on their wall. They probably stare at you in their sleep, and drool over you."
"You'd only know that, because you probably do that." His mouth dropped and I laughed.
"I would never-."
"Your secret has been spilled." I laugh and I stop jogging, and start to walk.
"Sometimes you're worse than my mum." I stepped infront of him and turned around.
"Excuse me, would you like to repeat that?" He laughed and leaned down a little so we were at the same height.
"Sometimes, you... are worse than my mum." With that I quickly went to punch him in the stomach but he blocked it. That just pushed my nerves off the bridge. I began punching at him non stop, getting a few punches in, but he just continued to block them. He was good I'll have to admit. So I made an illegal shot in boxing, by punching him right in the crotch.
"I'm not use to blocking down there." He groaned as he fell to his knees.
"Now repeat what you said before, my punches blocked out your voice and I couldn't hear you."
"Nothing." He groaned and I laughed, but I felt kind of bad.
"Oh so I guess you have a bruise now? And this time I don't think I mistakened it for the big butterfly on your chest." I laughed and held out a hand to help him up. But instead he grabbed my hand and pulled me down. So I awkwardly landed on top of him. "Curly, don't." Our faces were so close to each other and I could feel his breath on my face.
I tried pulling away from him but he was stronger than me, and he had his arms around me. "Let go Harry." He was surprised when I said his first name and slightly loosened his grip. So I took the chance to roll off of him. "I'm going home." I quickly got up and ran towards my house. I knew he'd pull some funny shit like that on me.
This was exactly why I didn't want to be around him in the first place. I had a past with slutty men and I always told myself I wouldn't fall for it again, but I always do. I guess I just miss being in love...
