I woke up in the middle of the night, not being able to sleep without Kam by my side. It felt so empty and cold without her. I hadn't known her for very long, but not having her at my side felt so lonely. I grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around me. When I got downstairs I could hear Kam's even breath coming from the couch.
I walked over to the coach, seeing her body curled up into a ball. Her body was shaking, and I felt bad for what I had said. I wasn't lying though, Gemma truly was my sister. I wasn't going to get mad at her though for not believing me, because I knew she'd have trust issues after she told me about Derek.
I walked around the couch and put the blanket over Kam. Her body immediately stopped shivering, and she gained more color in her face. I smiled and laid down on the floor next to her. I was to tired to walk back upstairs, and there wasn't room on the couch. So I fell asleep, and hoped I could find some way for her to believe me in the morning.
I felt a sudden pain in my stomach and quickly woke up. "Harry?!" Kam was standing over the top of me.
"Did you step on me?!" I grunted holding my stomach.
"Yeah, but I didn't know you were sleeping on the floor. Are you insane?" I opened my eyes, and the room was still kind of dark. What time is it?
"I didn't like sleeping in your room by myself, it didn't feel right." I sat up and still holding on my stomach. "I think you broke something."
"Probably." I was surprised that she hadn't yelled at me yet for calling her Gemma. But I she'd say something soon. "What time is it?" Kam picked up her phone from the table. I thought she was just checking the time so I looked up. But I was quickly blinded by a bright flash.
"What the hell?!" I covered my eyes.
"Woke up to see @Harry_Styles with #Bedhead." She laughed.
"Don't post that!" I tried grabbing her phone.
"To late." She smiled. I groaned and sat back down. "Payback for saying another girls name." And there it is. She stepped over my head, and walked into the kitchen. I got up and was about to walk into the kitchen, but a sudden pain stopped me.
I felt my body collapse onto the coach. A unbearable pain shooting up my back. "Fuck." I mumbled. I grabbed the edge of the couch and pulled myself onto it comfortably. I laid on my stomach, not being able to move my back.
"Your Gemma girl fuck you to hard last night? Or what happened?"
"She's my sister, why won't you believe me!" I raised my voice a little bit louder than I expected to. But she was fighting with me when I was in a lot of pain. I slept on a floor, which obviously wasn't the smartest idea.
I suddenly felt a bag of ice drop on my bag. I winced in pain, but then it began to feel better. "Just sit still." I heard Kam say. I heard her footsteps trail off downstairs, but when she came back up she began rubbing this freezing cold lotion on my back.
"What is that?"
"Icy Hot." After putting the lotion on, she rubbed my back.
"I thought I was a player, why are you even bothering to help me?"
"Fine I won't help you." She got up and left. Then I regretting saying that, her hands felt really good against my skin. After a few minutes, my back felt a little better. I got up and cracked it, making it feel a little better. "Ew don't do that, that's gross."
"Sorry, I slept on the floor, if you didn't already know." I came up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. She was standing by the stove making a omelet.
"You smell minty, and it's burning my eyes, go away." I groaned and backed away. I decided to not even bother trying to make up with her. So I went upstairs and grabbed my boxing stuff. I went down to her basement and looked around. She had a heavy bag, and a speed bag. Along with boxing pads, a small ring, some weights, and a few machines you could use to workout with. Not bad.
I set my bag down and wrapped my hands. I started working out with the speed bag, but it didn't last for long. My back started to hurt again. I felt like I was old or something, I wasn't use to hurting so much.
"I think it's funny how a strong guy you is actually really weak." I turned to see Kam standing next to the heavy bag eating her omelet.
"Every big guy has a weakness, you've got a weakness too."
"Oh really, what would that be?" I mentally laughed at what I was going to say.
"You get to jealous when I bring up other girls that are in my life." Her eyes widened at what I said, but it was true.
"I was dreaming of my sister, and said her name when you woke me up. I don't get what the big deal is."
"You honestly know how ridiculous that sounds right? You dreamed about your sister?"
"Yeah is that a problem?" I groaned, starting to get upset. I wanted to move on from this topic.
"Why would you dream about your sister?" She stopped eating her omelet wanting to hear my response.
"Maybe because she's dead." Kam's face went pale. The room went silent.
"Harry-." I cut her off, not even wanting to hear an apology She wouldn't believe me till I finally told her the truth. I didn't need an apology If anything I needed to get out of here. She was really starting to get on my nerves.
"Stop talking to me, I'm trying to train." My voice came out raspy and loud. I felt like I had shouted at her again. I turned around so I wouldn't see the look on her face. I'd probably give in and run back to her. I heard her make her way back upstairs, so when she was gone I began training again.
I kept hitting the bag, constantly without thinking. My body ached so much, I was almost to the point where I was starting to get tired just from training so hard. I hadn't trained this hard in months.
After training for about 3 hours, I finally gave in. I was completely out of breath, and I could barely move my arms anymore. I unwrapped my hands and walked upstairs. I went to the kitchen to get a drink of water, but somebody stopped me. I turned to see Kam, I pulled my hand away and looked at her.
"I started a bubble bath upstairs, I was going to get in, but you look really sore." She gave me a small smile, and that was all it took for me to forgive her. Her eyes were so beautiful, and she had so much sincere in her voice you couldn't say no.
"Thank you." I pecked her lips and walked upstairs. I walked into the bathroom and stripped down. I quickly slid into the water, it was really warm. It made my body feel loose though. I laid my head back and rested for a few minutes till somebody knocked on the door. "Yeah?"
"Do you want your shampoo?" I could hear Kam laughing from the other side. I shook my head and pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Sorry I forgot about it, just close your eyes and throw it to me or something." Kam opened the door, and threw the shampoo. It was a really bad throw, and I couldn't blame her she had her eyes closed.
But when it landed in the toilet, it made a huge splash, thankfully it didn't get on me though. "Did you get it?" She said still closing her eyes.
"No." I said, not being able to hold in a laugh. She opened her eyes to look to see where she threw it, but then covered her eyes immediately.
"Sorry!" She covered her mouth then trying not to laugh. "I didn't mean to look, or throw it in the toilet. I didn't see anything though."
"It's fine, I'm just not going to use that anymore."
"You can use mine, but you'll smell like rasberries and blueberries." She snickered a little.
"Great, Rasberries and blueberries are my favorite!" I tried saying with sarcasm.
"Really?" Her voice was completely serious, so she obviously didn't catch on to my sarcasm.
"I was kidding." I laughed.
"Oh." She said, her face turned a bright red, and I smiled. "Okay I'm sorry I'll leave now." She turned a little, and walked forward, running into the door. "I don't know where I'm going." She laughed. "Cover your dick I'm gonna open my eyes." I covered myself and began laughing. Just the way she had said it was funny. She opened her eyes quick and looked at me. "Sorry." She turned back around and walked out the door.
She was so oblivious sometimes. I almost felt like she did that on purpose.
After I finished with my awesome bubble bath. I got dressed and went to grab something to eat. "Want me to make pizza?" Kam said looking around my shoulder.
"Oh ugh sure." She pushed past me and grabbed frozen pizza from the freezer. She put it on a pizza pan and stuck it in the oven.
"I hope you like all meat, because that's what kind we had." I nodded. She sat back down on the couch and continued watching TV. I sat down next to her, and she looked at me.
"What?" She put her hands on my shoulders and lifted herself up. She put her face close to my hair and smelled it. "What are you doing?" I laughed pushing her away.
"You smell girly." She laughed laying her head down on my chest. At first I didn't expect her to do that, but I put my arm around her and pulled her closer to me. I honestly hated fighting with her, and it was a bad time to fight anyways.
We had tournaments coming up, she was probably going to lose her dad, the situation with Derek still needed to be settled, and I still need to beat her in a fight.
We continued watching The Big Bang Theory, until the pizza got done. Then we ended up eating pizza on the couch. "Harry?" I turned and looked at her. "Are you still upset about what I said earlier?"
"No." She looked down at the pizza on her plate.
"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have gone that far."
"It doesn't bother me much anymore Kam, she's been gone for a while, I'm a man I can get over it." She looked up at me and she had tears in her eyes. To see her face filled with so much pain crushed me.
"It doesn't matter whether you're a man or not Harry, it still hurt you at some point, right?" I had never seen her cry, and honestly I hated seeing her cry. I didn't know she really had a soft spot. I mean she got emotional when she talked about Derek, but she felt so controlled over the subject. She knew Derek couldn't hurt her anymore.
"That was then, but right now it's hurting me to see you cry." She set her pizza down, and quickly jumped on top of me pulling me into a hug. I dropped my plate onto the floor, and hugged her back.
"Harry Styles..." She looked at me, her face so close to mine. "I think I-." She stopped herself suddenly. I felt like I knew what she was going to say, but I wasn't going to get any ideas. "Never mind." She laid her head back down on my chest and whispered something that I couldn't hear.
I didn't bother asking, because it felt good to finally not be so mad at her anymore. Eventually we pulled away from each other, and continued watching Big Bang Theory. I pulled Kam into my lap. "Kam?" She turned her head and looked at me. "If you don't want to finish your sentence, then mind if I give you one?" She looked kind of confused. "Your the first girl that I've ever said this too, and truly meant it." I leaned close to her, so my lips were touching her ear. "I love you."
She smiled and turned a bright red. "You took the words right out of my mouth." She turned and kissed me. Her lips were so warm, and I missed her touch. I liked seeing this side of her too. Calm, not stubborn, passionate, and so many more positive words.
Eventually she pulled away, and we stared into each others eyes. She was so beautiful, even with all those bruises her beauty still shown through.
You could see sadness in her eyes coming home. I knew why she didn't want to come home, or didn't want to fall in love with me. But I could see hope in her eyes, because she had somebody to help her through all this mess.
And I'm glad to say that, that one person... might just be me.
