James didn't want Lily to get hurt so he had decided it would be a good thing to hide the situation from Dumbledore. So that was why Sirius, Remus, and James were standing there, at the Whomping Willow, alone. Well, for now. The hooded figure marching towards them kept them from being totally alone.
Ironically, Sirius was filled with fear as the figure grew closer. And Remus was experiencing the same thing. But, James, on the other hand, was trying to fill his heart with as much courage as he needed to save Lily. And the figure, the figure was pleased. Very pleased with himself for coming up with such a plan.
Finally, this figure reached the group of friends. And he laughed. The three friends looked at each other in confusion.
"Ah, my friends!" The figure shook their head
"We aren't your friends!" James growled, "What do you want?"
"Ah," they pushed back their hood, "Impatient, are we?"
"Regulus?" Sirius eyes widened as the blood drained from his face
"Dear, dear brother." Regulus shook his head with a smile, "You never were one for fully ignoring the ladies."
"Sirius, what is he talking about?" James turned toward his friend concern in his eyes
"Nothing," Sirius glared at his brother
"Are you-" James began
"Yes, James. Shut up and listen to what my brother wants." Sirius growled
"You didn't tell him." Regulus laughed, "Don't worry, I won't either, but he'll find out eventually."
"Regulus, what," Sirius paused with pure rage in his eyes, "What is it that you want?"
"Well, dearest brother, I want you to get me something." Regulus replied
"What would that be?" James replied, "You already said you wanted something, what is it?"
"Yes, most detestable younger brother, what is it that you want?" Sirius clenched his fists
"Well, I do believe that is for me to know and you to find out. I wonder if you have enough brainpower on your side to help you. You do have Remus, so I suppose you have a slim chance. Ah well, here is my list of requirements." Regulus held out a piece of parchment, "You must fill them by Lily's birthday."
"Thirty days? You're giving us thirty days?" James was taken aback
"It's a long list. I suppose I can take some time off. You have a week." Regulus laughed
"Regulus." Sirius snarled at his younger brother
"I can give you less time, it's only going to hurt the girl. I can find other ways to get what I want." Regulus warned
"Fine," Sirius ripped the list out of Regulus' hands, "We'll get it done."
