Sirius walked back to their room filled slightly with anger at his friend's open distrust. It was so infuriating, they had know each other from the beginning. Sirius had given him no reason to not trust him, except, no! That was nothing! It was the past and James didn't know, not yet. Thanks to his idiotic munter of a brother.
Remus sighed as he entered the dorm room. His friends would never go back to the way they were. They would never be as close as they once were. It agitated him to think of what Regulus would do. He was an evil little twat, to the core of his being.
James smiled as he entered their dorm room. He was going to find out the sole secret -no- all of the secrets his friends had ever kept from him. They wouldn't be able to hide anything from him. He would know it all. And he could always add an extra drop of Veritaserum to the dose they had taken.
Sirius looked at Remus, who was sitting on the edge of his bed reading a book quietly. Then he looked to the door to see James enter. James, the one who lost his trust in Sirius. The one who thought him terrible for one little bitty secret.
James held up the Veritaserum in victory. Remus sighed and closed his book. Setting his book aside, he stood up and took the vial from James. He took out some glasses and poured the dreaded potion in. He handed one glass to each of them.
"Cheers," He declared sarcastically and they drank
"This stuff is awful!" James held up his glass and glared at it
"Let's get started," Remus rolled his eyes
"Yes," James took a moment from looking at his glass to glare at Sirius, "Let's get started."
"I have a lot to tell you. I mean what with Lily trying to kiss my cheek when I turned to talk to her. After accidentally kissing me, she tried to kiss me again. I told her off though. I told her you still liked her. She told me she didn't care and that I was a better kisser." Sirius blurted then clapped a hand over his mouth
"I see," James glared at his now officially ex-best friend
"You want to know why I read?" Remus asked, "I need to have some way to make a living. I won't be able to live off my family's savings. I need to get somewhere in my life."
"My plans, well, they did involve you two and Lily but now I believe, ha, I believe that they only involve Lily and I getting married. If she actually does love me." James said with a glare at Sirius
"My dreams, oh my dreams. I want to be a professor at Hogwarts. Then I could actually get numbskulls like you to listen to me when I say something. My opinion would actually matter to someone." Remus admitted
"Do you want to know what happened to my parents? They died of old age. They died leaving me alone in my house. I can't stand going back there alone. I can't pretend like you can Sirius. I can't tell myself they're just away for the weekend." James began to cry
"Um, I don't think any of us is up for more talking. Let's write our letters." Remus wrinkled his nose at James
Super sorry that this chapter is so crappy.
