Ashton drove me home earlier the next day. I had time to quickly change into a Pokémon crop top and light blue ripped skinny jeans. I straightened my hair quickly and did eye liner and mascara.
"Good enough." I mumbled as I grabbed my bag and walked upstairs.
"Hey, I thought you were at a friends house?" Luke asked me.
"I came home early." I told him.
"Keihl!" I said, jumping on my brothers back.
"Ugh what?" He asked.
"How's my brother?" I asked.
"The same as always." He told me.
I nodded my head, and followed the two out the front door.
When I got to school, the first three periods went by quickly. It was now lunch time and I was sitting at our table.
"Hey." I smiled at Brandon.
"Hey." He replied.
"Brandy!" Some girl with blonde hair screeched.
I raised my eyebrow at Brandon and laughed.
"Hey baby." He smiled to the girl, kissing her cheek.
I raised an eyebrow and gave a weird smile.
"Who's this Brandy?" The girl asked.
"Caitlyn, this is Whisp. Whisp this is Caitlyn." He told us.
"Nice to meet you Caitlyn." I smiled.
She made a hmp noise and looked at Brandon.
"Come sit with me and my friends." She said, dragging him away.
"Who's that?" Chris asked, sitting down with Deuce.
"Caitlyn. Brandon's new girlfriend or whatever." I told them.
"So have you heard about Ashton's new love interest?" Chris asked.
My eyes went wide and I leaned in.
"Who?" I asked.
"Her name is Grace Killer. She's new and all the boys are all over her. But apparently she hooked up with Ashton this morning." She told us.
My mouth was a gape and I blinked a few times.
"I'll be right back." I murmured.
I quickly walked over to the bathroom and locked myself in the stall. My eyes were brimming with tears and I didn't know why. I took a few deep breathes and wiped my eyes.
I walked out of the stall and faced myself in the mirror. I fixed my makeup and stared at my reflection.
"Hey." Deuce said from behind.
She walked up next to me and looked at herself in the mirror as well.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Nothing." I told her.
"Bullshit." She told me.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, thinning out the knots.
"I just. Oh I don't know."
"You like Ashton." She said.
"It's obvious Whisper. You can deny it all you want but I know you do. But wanna know something?"
"What?" I asked.
"He's not worth it. He goes after any girl he can. He will be with Grace for maybe a week. Trust me. He does this sort of shit all the time. Your too good for him." She told me.
I sighed and hugged her.
"Is it bad that no matter what anyone says I still want to be with him?"
"No its not bad. I can't tell you not to go after him, but I will warn you. He can't stay faithful."
After school, I went to find Ashton. I didn't know what I was going to say yet but I needed to talk to him.
"Ash!" I called, following him out the doors of the school.
"Oh hey." He smiled.
I caught up to him and walked beside him.
"I wanted to talk to you about Grace." I told him.
"Oh? You heard about her eh?"
"Yeah." I nodded my head.
"I'm not gonna lie she's a good kisser." He chuckled.
I looked at the ground and kicked a rock.
"But she's nothing compared to you." He told me.
"Well thanks, that helps." I mumbled.
"Something wrong?" He asked.
"It's just, uh, well I like you Ashton." I told him nervously.
"Well duh, I like you too. Why do you think I slept with you?"
"No Ashton, I like like you."
"Oh." He replied.
"I'm sorry." I apologized, rushing forward.
He grabbed me by the waist and spun me around. He pulled me in close and kissed me. It wasn't like the other kisses. This one sparked. It made my stomach flutter.
"What are we?" He asked me.
"Friends?" I asked.
"I don't want to be friends." He told me.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"I want you." He whispered, pulling me in for another kiss.
