The Girl of Blazing Flames

Aubrey always thought no one would ever find out her deep secret! What happened? Well the new transfer students happened! What will they do now that they know her secret?

13. The old hideout

I hate Josh! He’s the meanest, most self-inflicted guy I have ever met! He only wants to keep me safe because he believes that he’s my true love! As if! I could feel myself catching full fire. I ran and ran until I came upon a small building.  I grinned. This was where I had my first kiss with Peter.  We tried dating but it never worked. He was my best friend and was more like a brother to me. I stopped at the door of the building. It’s been years since I’ve been here. I turned human and quickly opened the door and walked in before anyone saw me. I know there’s a blanket in here somewhere. I walked around and finally found where I had set it. I quickly picked it up and wrapped it around me. Andrew hurry up. Just then I heard the door open in the other room. Andrew? I hope so. I walked in there. There was no one. Creepy! I turned and almost slammed into Andrew.

“Dude! Don’t do that!” I yelled. He held out a pile of clothes.

“Thanks” I said as I left the room.

Andrew had given me cargo shorts and a black ops tee shirt. I quickly slipped them on. When I entered the main room Andrew was checking the place out.

“My friends and I used to hang here all the time.” I said walking up to stand next to Andrew.

He nodded. “So why did you come here?” He asked looking me straight in the eyes.

I sighed. “This place just has a lot of peaceful memories." I say looking around.

"Like what?" Andrew asked.

"Like when Jacob found some fireworks by the lake and we set them off right here." I said with a grin as I pointed up to the giant hole in the ceiling.

"Or, when Peter found a stray pit bull and it tore up everything in the house." I said gesturing to the claw and bite marks all over the room.

"Looks like you guys were really...." Andrew started, but tried to think of the right word.

"Adventurous?" I asked trying to help out.

"Stupid." Andrew said finding the right word.

I gaped and punched him in the arm with a laugh. "That is not nice!" I tried to say with a straight face, but it didn't work.

"Well you better go get some rest, I will keep watch." Andrew said.

I nodded and walked over to the couch. As soon as my head hit the cushions I was out for the night.
