I finally get myself together and then kick the door with my foot.
It takes a minute or so for Toby to finally come to the door and open it. "Wondered what was taking so long Bubbles," he smiles. "Let me help you," he grabs the drinks and a few other things.
"Thanks. Sorry I took so long. I couldn't decide what to get," I lie straight to him. It's for his own good. I can't just say, 'Oh hey Tobuscus, I just had a talk with a boy at the vending machines. We are going to be great friends because he wants to really get to know me. He's even moving close by because of it'. That would be a really weird conversation.
"That's alright," he leads the way to two person table in the room. I kick the door close with my foot before walking over to him. "Let's just eat our very unhealthy dinner and then get to bed."
"Sounds like a good idea." Then we open up all the bags and start eating. I love Toby so much; I can be myself with him. There's nothing to worry about. We eat like pigs and don't care.
"What are you going to tell your friends when you go back to school?"
"I'll lie and say I met Slender." It wouldn't be too far from the truth.
"How long will they believe you?"
"I probably won't even tell anyone. Be like, 'If I told you, I'd have to kill you'."
"That would be pretty funny."
We finish up our 'dinner' and then hop into bed. The room has two beds and they are super comfy.
"Goodnight Bubbles," Toby says into the darkness of the room.
"Night, night Tobuscus," I close my eyes and drift off into the darkness of sleep.
*The Next Morning*
"Pack Toby! Don't watch TV!" I yell from the shower. I've got to keep motivating him or he'll stop altogether.
"I'm packing I swear!" Toby yells back.
I smile as I turn the water off. It's always nice to take a little road trip with him. After about ten minutes I'm ready and exit the bathroom. Toby has the suitcases by the door and he's sitting on the bed watching TV.
"Do you think Gryphon missed us?" I ask as I put my bathroom stuff into my suitcases front pocket.
He looks over at me and smiles, "Probably. I've got a lot of editing to do today, so you'll have to look over him."
"As long as I get a little spending money," I smile back as I zip the pocket close.
"Alright, let's get going then."
*An Hour Later*
"You didn't have any homework this weekend, did you?" Toby asks. We're driving down the highway heading back to L.A.
"No, but I do have news," I smile as I stare out the window.
"And what's your news?"
"We're getting a new kid sometime next week. I just know I'll show them around."
"Boy or girl?"
"A boy. His name is Sam."
"Also, I'll probably be paired with him in the upcoming history project."
"What do you want to do for that?"
"Egypt. Cliché, I know, but Egypt is just so cool. It has an interesting past as well."
"I think it's a good topic. It's what you're interested in, so you'll have fun and do well on it."
"Thanks. Can we stop somewhere for lunch soon?"
"Sure. Just tell me where."
"Next exit, the McDonalds."
