Daniel Queen’s Funeral. Thomas is on the phone as Alex comes up to him. It takes Thomas a second to notice.
Thomas- Okay, look, I’ve got to go. I’ll call in a bit.
He hangs up
Alex- Hello. Are you sure you should be at this man’s funeral?
Thomas- Why ever not?
Alex- I never knew you to play dirty.
Thomas- What are you suggesting, son?
Alex- You tell me, Father.
Thomas- How are you involved in all of this?
Alex- I know some people. You forget, I was in the army too.
Thomas- I know. Then why do you accuse me so cold heartedly?
Alex- Never. Realisation.
Thomas- And how does politics suit you?
Alex- It’s worse than war.
Thomas- Son, it is war.
Alex- Without the steal?
Thomas- Those boundaries are starting to fall, once again.
Alex- Yes. I like to stay out of that part.
Thomas- That’s just it. We are all messed up somewhere.
Freya joins them
Freya, darling, how lovely to meet you again. Shame it couldn’t be in happier circumstances.
Freya- Mr Coburn, they were lovely words you said. And, Alex, I didn’t know you knew Daniel.
Alex- I didn’t. I came to lay some flowers. How’s Ari?
Freya- Ariadne? As well as ever. Been working overtime a lot.
Thomas- James’ girl?
Thomas- I didn’t know you were still in contact with her.
