I cautiously looked around and stepped though the door. Everyone crowded around us at once and I scrambled back falling on my bum. I wasn't used to large crowds like this.
"M-Midnight...?" A familiar voice called my name and the crowd parted, revealing Jeff.
Tears began to run down my cheeks and I ran to him, jumping into his arms. My shoulder dampened and I realized he was crying too. I held onto him tight, scared he would disappear again. I inhaled his musky scent and noticed Slenderman behind Jeff.
"Ahem. I would like to get Midnight up to her room so she could clean up. You may continue your reunion at another time." Jeff reluctantly let go, and already I missed his touch.
"I will be down here if you need me," Jeff said, "Okay?"
I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
Then, with a worried tone, he asked, "What's wrong?"
I pointed to my throat, hoping he would understand.
"You can't speak?" I nodded. "It's okay, we can sort this out after. Go clean up." I turned and walked up the stairs, knowing a nice, warm shower awaited me.
