2. The letter
I woke up stil a bit shaken by the dementor the other night but much less guilty. I brushed my long black hair and got dressed. I looked up at the sky and saw an owl flying towards me. I untied the letter from its leg it read. HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Order of Merlin First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. Of Wizards) Dear Ms. Black We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted ay Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and WIZARDRY. Please find enclosed list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31 Yours sincerely, Minerva Mcgonagall Deputy Headmistress Wow! I was so excited that I completely forgot about the demntor and readied myself for more. Using my abilities ( witch also includes speaking to animals, turning into any animal, and sencing the presence of energy like dark and light) made myself temporarily imune to dementors. I was gonna pay a visit to dad. ~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤~~~¤ I appeared in my father's cell just like I did six years ago on the night I last saw my mother, but this time I was there for a much happier reason with a smile instead of tears. He had been sitting in a corner thinking, but got up when I appeared, and gave me a big hug. "Ida, what are you doing here?" He asked with a twinkle in his eyes. He could only feel happiness when I was there or the dementors would just take it away. When I was imune to dementors so was he. I gave him my letter. "Look, I've been accepted to Hogwarts!" I said bouncing happily. "That's great Ida!" He said as scooped me up. I saw sadness in his eyes unlike the haunted look that Azkaban had given him. "What's wrong?" I asked softly. He hugged me tighter then answered. "It's just that I wish I was there for you more often, that I cold of protected you" his choice trailed off and as was silent. I was shocked. Could he really blame himself for what Max did me? Him being here was the only thing that kept me alive. No matter how many times Max crucioed me or cut me or hit me, dad gave me a reason to try to live on, he have me something to strive for, because I couldn't let him down. I looked up into his tired eyes. "Isn't your fault." I said fermly. He didn't say anything. I gave him a hug. I wouldn't be able to stay much longer or the dementors would start to affect me and they'd know I was there. For ten minute dad focused his mind on one thought, a thought that allowed him his sanity, that he was innocent. I left and reappeared not in the woods, but somewhere just as safe, ast Rose's.
