I threw my jacket on as my phone rang. I picked it up, answering automatically.
Justin: Yeah, it's me. I'm on the plane right now and I should be at the airport in thirty minutes.
Me: Okay. I'm on my way now.
Justin: Can't see you, baby.
Me: Same here.
Justin: Love you.
Me: Love you, too.
I hung up, shoving my phone into my pocket. I put on my Vans and trudged down the stairs, taking the keys. Someone took them, making me spin around.
Dad: Where are you going?
Me: To the airport.
Me: To meet a friend there.
I opened the door, walking out of the house.
Dad: You better not be seeing that boy.
I rolled my eyes, walking down the sidewalk.
Dad: Dawn, you better get in the house.
Me: Or what?
Dad: You don't want to know.
Rolling my eyes, I quickened my pace.
I saw his flight number appear, making me smile. I saw the gate open as people rushed in. I looked around, standing on my toes even. I couldn't see him at all. When the crowd cleared, my heart dropped. He wasn't there. I sighed, stuffing my hands into my pockets as I lowered my head. As I turned around, I heard my name being called. I spun around, people moving out of the way as he appeared. He dropped his backpack, staring at me. I smiled, running towards him. He met me halfway, wrapping his arms around my waist and spinning me around in the air. He put me down, automatically kissing me. I smiled, cupping his cheeks in my hands as I kissed back. We pulled away, our faces inches away.
Justin: I missed you so much.
Me: I missed you, too.
He cupped my cheeks in his hands, kissing me again. I smiled, kissing him back.
?: Alright, no making out in the airport.
We pulled away, smiling at each other. He took my hand in his, intertwining our fingers.
Justin: Come on.
He pulled me towards the double doors with his backpack on his shoulder.
He spun me around in the air, making me shriek.
Me: Justin, put me down!
He kept spinning me around, making me laugh. Finally, he put me down on the ground, kissing my forehead.
Justin: I love you.
Me: I love you, too.
He spun me around so I would face him. I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck. He smiled, leaned in, and kissed me. I kissed back as he pulled me closer to him. He deepened the kiss, my fingers running through his hair. He pulled away, smiling at me. I smiled back, taking his hand in mine as we continued walking around the park.
Justin: Shouldn't you be home?
Me: My dad's there.
I rested my head on his shoulder.
Justin: You know, it's been six months since we've started dating.
Me: Yeah, and?
Justin: How about we celebrate on the twenty second?
Me: It depends.
He spun me around, pulling me close.
Justin: On what?
me: Whatever my dad says.
Justin: Where's your mom?
Me: I don't know. She hasn't come back ever since he returned.
Justin: Well, I don't care what he says. I'll see you no matter what.
Me: But Justin...
Justin: 'But' nothing, babe.
He took my hands in his, intertwining our fingers.
Justin: I love you and I'm not letting him take you from me.
I smiled, our noses touching.
I spun around, finding my dad walking towards me. I let my hands drop from his, standing in front of him.
Dad: I thought I told you not to see him.
Me: And? I don't care.
He grabbed my forearm, pulling me away from Justin.
Dad: You're coming home. Now.
As he pulled me away, Justin pulled me back, standing in front of me.
Justin: Keep your hands off my girlfriend.
I've had it with her dad trying to control everything. Doesn't he understand what we have? He can't come ruin her life. I'm not letting that happen. He got in my face, his eyes filled with pure hate.
Jordan: Listen, kid. I don't like you. Never did, never will. I don't want my daughter getting caught up in some popstar who thinks he owns the world. I don't want her near you.
Me: For your information, I don't think I own the world. I'm just like any other normal human being.
Jordan: People like you make me sick.
Me: Newsflash, asshole. You're daughter loves people like me.
His fist made contact to my cheek, making me lose my balance a little.
She walked towards me, but her dad pulled her away.
Jordan: It's douchebags like you who brainwash my daughter.
With my anger boiling inside of me, I charged at him, punching him in the face.
I pulled him off of my dad.
Me: Justin, stop it!
Justin: He can't just pop up and take you from me! He can't!
I put my hands in his cheeks.
Me: Justin, calm down. Go home and get some rest. We'll talk in the morning.
He walked away, looking at my dad.
Justin: Fucking prick.
He stormed off, his fists still clenched by his side.
He threw me onto my bed.
Dad: I thought I told you not to see him.
Me: He was coming back home from tour! I haven't seen him in a month!
Dad: Don't raise your voice at me, young lady!
Me: Oh, so I'm a young lady now, huh?! What happened to bitch?!
Dad: Don't you use that language in this house!
Me: It's not your house, so why do you care?! This is mom's house, not yours!
Dad: Don't bring your mother into this!
Me: Where is she?! Where the hell is my mother?!
Dad: Don't use that language!
Me: For your information, 'hell' is in the Bible, dumb ass.
My head went to the side, my cheek stinging. He hit me...again.
Dad: You're grounded for two weeks.
Dad: I could make it three.
Me: You can't do this to me!
Dad: Yes I can! I'm your guardian and you do what I say when I say it!
Me: Mom is my guardian, not you!
Dad: She's dead, Dawn! You're never seeing her again!
Me: Stop lying to me!
Dad: I'm not lying! Even ask Pattie!
Me: You know nothing about Justin or his family! You can't say sh-
Dad: ENOUGH! You're grounded for a month! No friends, no TV, no Internet and NO JUSTIN!
Me: You can't do this to me! I'm seventeen years old!
Dad: I can and I will! You're staying in your room all day! No exceptions!
He slammed my door shut, making me jump. My head collided with my pillow, the tears cascading down onto it. I wish my dad never came back.
