Today's the day Justin turns eighteen. He's still asleep, since he worked so hard last night on Believe. I don't blame him. If I was him, I'd probably sleep all day. Sadly, I have to wake him up soon. He has an interview with Ellen today and he has two parties.
This morning, I'm making breakfast. He deserves it. As I was cooking in the kitchen, Pattie walked in.
Pattie: You're up early.
Me: I'm making breakfast for him.
Pattie: That's sweet of you.
Me: He deserves it.
She nodded, walking towards me.
Pattie: How long have you been cooking?
Me: Since 7:45 this morning.
She took the spatula from me.
Pattie: Go wake Justin up. He needs to be up by 8:45 so he can eat and we can leave by nine.
Me: I thought he didn't need to be up until 9:15.
Pattie: Scooter called me, telling me we need to leave by then. He has to be on Ellen at ten.
I nodded, heading up the stairs.
I woke up to weight on top of me. I opened my eyes, seeing my beautiful girlfriend sitting on me.
Dawn: Morning, Justin.
I smiler, leaning up for a kiss when she got off of me.
Me: You're such a tease.
She stuck her tongue out at me.
Dawn: I made breakfast for you.
I smiled, sitting up in bed.
Dawn: Get dressed and you might get a kiss before tonight.
She closed the door behind her. I got out of bed and started getting ready.
I went back to the stove, taking the spatula from Pattie.
Pattie: I'll get dressed.
I nodded as she left the kitchen. When she was out of earshot, I began to sing Lightweight.
The slightest words you said have all gone to my head
I hear angels sing in your voice
When you pull me close, feelings I’ve never known
They mean everything and leave me no choice
Light on my heart, light on my feet
Light in your eyes I can’t even speak
Do you even know how you make me weak
I’m a lightweight, better be careful what you say
With every word I’m blown away, you’re in control of my heart
I’m a lightweight, easy to fall, easy to break
With every move my whole world shakes, keep me from falling apart
I felt two arms wrap around my waist and a pair of lips on my neck.
Justin: You have a sexy voice, baby.
He kissed my neck, making me tense up and spin around. I looked at him up and down, biting my lip.
Me: Nice outfit.
He smiled, resting his forehead on mine.
Justin: Now where's that kiss?
I chuckled, gently pushing him away.
Justin: *whining*You said that earlier.
Me: I promise, baby.
He pouted, crossing his arms over his chest. I pinched his cheeks.
Me: You such a big baby.
He kissed my cheek, walking over to the table. Just as I was making three plates off food, Pattie walked in.
Pattie: Dawn, go get dressed. I got this.
I nodded, walking out of the kitchen.
Why won't she kiss me? I haven't kissed her since I went to the studio last night and now she's torturing me by not putting her lips on mine. Maybe she's waiting until later. She told me she was gonna give her gift to me at the party.
My mom placed a plate of food in front of me. I could tell Dawn made it by the smell.
Mom: Happy birthday, Justin.
Me: Thanks, mom.
She gave me a hug and placed a box in front of me.
Mom: From your dad and I.
I smiled, opening the box to reveal a silver cross necklace. I held it up, seeing it was diamond encrusted. I looked at my mom.
Me: You didn't have to.
Mom: It's from the heart.
I got up and hugged her petite frame. I pulled out of the hug as I saw Dawn walk into the kitchen.
Dawn: Family bonding, I see.
I smiled, examining her outfit. It was like mine, except she was in all white and a black leather jacket while I was in all black and a tan leather jacket.
She sat down next to me, taking a piece of sausage off my plate.
She shrugged, putting it in her mouth. I rolled my eyes and began eating.
We walked into Ellen's studio through the back door. She came up to us, her eyes widening when she saw me.
Ellen: Who's this?
Justin wrapped his arms around my waist.
Justin: My girlfriend.
He kissed my cheek, making a blush creep onto my cheeks.
Ellen: I thought you and Selena were...
Justin: We ended it in October.
Ellen: Well, it's nice to meet you...uh...
Ellen: Nice to meet you, Dawn.
?: Five minutes.
Ellen: That's my cue.
Justin: I'll be on in a little bit.
She nodded, hugged us, then walked away. Justin pulled me closer to him.
Justin: Can I get my kiss now?
Me: After your interview.
Justin: Baby, you're killing me here.
Me: Relax, Justin. It's just a kiss.
Justin: To you it is.
I rolled my eyes. This kid.
Once his interview ended, he came backstage, wrapped his arms around me and spun ,e around in the air. He sat me down on the counter in the green room, resting his forehead against mine.
Justin: Please kiss me.
Justin: You're such a tease.
I wrapped my arms around his neck.
Justin: Why won't you kiss me?
Me: To see if you can survive not getting a kiss from me until later.
Justin: So you're testing me?
He kissed my cheek, making me blush.
Justin: How about a ride in my new car?
Me: show long of a ride?
Justin: Just around the city. You know, to test it out.
Me: Okay. But no speeding.
Justin: No promises.
I rolled my eyes, getting off the counter. He took my hand in his, intertwining our fingers as we walked out of the studio.
It's time for Justin's birthday party with his family and we're already a minute late. I walked down the stairs in a black dress and black boots. My hair was down and to the side, covering a scar on the left side of my neck. My father gave me that when I was four and ,my mom didn't tell me until I was eight.
When I met Justin at the bottom, his mouth gaped open as he examined me up and down.
Pattie: Language, Justin!
He wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling my body closer to his.
Justin: I didn't know you'd look this good in black, baby.
He kissed my cheek, taking my hand in his.
Pattie: Are we ready?
Pattie: Good. Let's head over now.
We nodded, following her out the door with our fingers intertwined.
After some pictures with the family, I sat her on my lap, wrapping my arms around her waist.
Me: So when do I get my birthday kiss? You told me later and it's later.
Dawn: I meant at your second party.
Me: Why do you torture me like this?
Dawn: Cause it's fun to see you upset.
I rolled my eyes.
Me: One kiss.
She shook her head.
Me: Just one kiss.
Dawn: No, Justin.
Me: Fine. I'll steal one from you.
I leaned in, but she pushed me away.
Dawn: No, Justin.
I leaned in again and she got up from my lap.
I got up and tried again, but she ran from me. On, it's on now. I ran after her around the room.
I ran around the room with Justin chasing me. I ran for the doors and before I could open them, he wrapped his arms around my waist.
Me: Justin, let me go.
He pinned me to the wall, wrapping my legs around his waist.
Justin: Kiss me.
Before I could protest, he pressed his lips to mine. I didn't kiss back until he grabbed my ass. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he deepened the kiss. I was going to wait until I gave him his gift, but oh well. It is what it is. He pulled my hips closer to Hus as the kiss grew more passionate.
We pulled away from the kiss. He kissed my nose lightly as he put me down.
Pattie: You guys have plenty of time for that later. For now, we're doing a slideshow.
Justin: Mom, please, not in front of Dawn.
I smirked. This ought to be fun.
Just as we walked into the second party of the night, the music was playing. Demi Lovato's You're My Only Shorty blasted through the speakers.
DJ: BIEBER'S IN THE BUILDING!
Everyone cheered as I just laughed. I noticed Demi and Taylor were coming our way.
Demi: Hey, Justin, can we steal your girlfriend for a second?
Justin: Just make sure to give her back.
Taylor: We will.
He kissed my cheek as they pulled me away. We sat down at a table near the DJ.
Taylor: So what's with you and Justin?
I bit my lip, shrugging.
Me: Nothing really.
Demi: How many dates did he take you on?
Me: About ten.
Their eyes went wide.
Jaden came up to me, doing our little handshake.
Jaden: So who's the girl?
He pointed at Dawn, making me smile.
Me: She's my girlfriend.
Jaden: Oh really?
Jaden: What happened to Selena?
Before I could answer, the door slammed open. I turned around, my eyes widening at who entered the room.
When I heard a door slam open, my head turned to the entrance. The music stopped playing as all heads turned to the entrance. She walked in with a sly smirk playing at her lips as she made her way over to my boyfriend.
Selena: Hey, Justin.
Justin: Why are you here?
She chuckled, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Selena: What? I can't wish you a happy birthday?
I clenched my jaw and fists and got up from the table.
Selena: Aw, but I just got here.
Justin: You weren't even invited. Now leave.
I made my way over there.
Selena: Come on, Justin. You and I both know you want me here.
Me: Actually, he doesn't.
She turned to me, giving me a disgusted look.
Me: If you want to flash disgusted looks, make sure you do it in the mirror.
I heard 'oohs' coming from around the room.
Selena: Excuse me, but this is an A-B conversation, so see your way out of it.
Me: I'll see my way out of it once you get your slutty hands off my boyfriend.
Her mouth gaped open at what I just said. I walked up to them and stood in between her and Justin.
Selena: Excuse me?
Me: You heard me.
Selena: Actually, I don't think I did.
Me: Well, that's two things you need help.
Selena: That's only one, dumb ass.
Me: You didn't let me finish. How you can get help is get a hearing aid and a face that doesn't break anything.
The 'oohs' got louder behind me as her jaw dropped.
Selena: You bitch!
She swung at me, but I grabbed her forearm. I punched her in the face, making her fall to the floor. Before I could make another move on her slutty ass, Justin pulled me back.
Justin: Dawn, stop.
Me: I'm sick of her, Justin!
Justin: So am I, but you don't see me kicking her ass.
Me: You're a guy, Justin. You can't beat up girls.
Justin: I know that.
I got out of his grip and stormed over to her. She was standing up, holding her nose. I smirked, knowing I gave her a bloody nose. She looked at me, shooting me a death glare. I rolled my eyes and pushed her her towards the door. She stumbled at little, but regained her balance.
Me: I suggest you get home. Oh, and don't look into the mirror. You might break it again.
I smirked, walking back to Justin. When she was out of the building, the music started up again. Justin grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me out the back doors. When we were outside, he closed the door behind us.
Justin: What the hell was that?
Justin: Why did you have to get into the middle. You known I could have handled it.
Me: Justin, I...
He cut me off by putting his hand up.
Justin: I don't want to hear another word come out of your mouth for the rest of the night.
Justin: I'll send you back home if I have to. This is my eighteenth birthday and so fae, it's being ruined by you punching her in the face.
I looked down, feeling tears fill my eyes.
Justin: Now I'm going back inside to talk to friend. You can come back in if you want, but don't talk to me.
With that, he walked back inside, leaving me out there. A tear shed from my eye as more flowed silently. I wanted Justin to have the best birthday ever and all I do is let my anger get the best of me. I have to make it up to him. I have to let him know I'm sorry. I wiped my tears, straightening out my dress. I was gonna wait until later to give him his gift, but I guess I should do it now. I took a deep breath and walked back into the building.
