Everyone around us tries to split us up. Truth is, we always find each other. We're inseparable.

37. Chapter 36

February 6, 2012
7:15 PM
We just arrived at the studio, trying to keep our faces hidden. Paparazzi are okay, but when I'm heading to the studio, let's just say all hell might break loose. That's how annoying paparazzi can get.

When we got into the building, we took our hoods off, grabbing each other's hand. We walked through the door of the recording studio I was recording in.

Scooter: Good, you're early.

I took my phone out of my pocket, going through my notepad.

Me: Let's get started.

She sat down on the couch as I walked over to the electronic keyboard.

Normal POV

Once he walked away, I took out my iPad and began my school work. Honestly, the things I'm learning are so easy. Pre-Calculus isn't that hard and neither is Physical Science. The only thing I hate learning is English. Sure, we're reading the Bible and Shakespeare, but it's just so much work. And I'm not even in honors. Sure, I have a 3.5 GPA, but other than that, this shit is hard.

I went through every math problem without a doubt, read through every paragraph in my Physical Science textbook and answered the questions, studied all the notes in European History, and read Act 3 Scene 2 of Shakespeare's Richard the Third.

Once I completed all the subjects, I started writing another song. As I was about to hit my piano app, the door opened. I looked and saw a girl walk in. She looked around the studio, her eyes landing on Scooter and Justin. The music stopped and Justin took his headphones off. He walked out of the booth towards the girl.

Justin: Hey, Carly.

They hugged quickly.

Carly: Hey, Justin.

They both walked over to me. I stood up, straightening out my shirt.

Justin: This is Dawn, my girlfriend.

She furrowed her eyebrows.

Carly: I thought you and Selena were...
Justin: Not anymore. We broke up in October.
Carly: Oh.

She looked at me.

Carly: It's nice to meet you.
Me: Same here.
Justin: I gotta finish recording, so I'll let you two talk.

He kissed my cheek and walked back into the recording booth.

Carly: So how did you and Justin meet?
Me: Fate.
Carly: Really?
Me: Yeah. I was on vacation with my friend and he was with Selena at the time.

I rolled my eyes.

Me: Anyways, he was looking at me and my friend was telling me he liked me. Long story short, I fell off my seat and he somewhat helped me up.
Carly: How did you two get together?

I looked down at the floor, biting my lip.

Me: He kissed me then asked me to be his girlfriend.
Carly: Aw. That's so cute.

She sat down next to me.

Carly: Do you love him?
Me: Yeah. I do.

I looked at Justin.

Me: He makes me happy, even when he doesn't try.

As he was singing one of the songs, he looked at me and smiled. My cheeks flushed red as I turned to look back at Carly.

Carly: Aw.
Me: Shut up!
Carly: You two are so cute together.

I bit my lip, looking at Justin. He looked at me, winking. I rolled my eyes, looking down at the floor.

Carly: So how long have you two been together?
Me: It'll be two months the day after Valentine's Day.
Carly: Has anyone tried to split you two up?

I sighed, looking up at the ceiling.

Me: No, but Selena has spread rumors about me.
Carly: Why would she do that?
Me: Cause she wants Justin all to herself.
Carly: But then why did she and Justin break up?
Me: Because he talk in love with me.

I lowered my head, playing with my fingers.

Carly: Well, at least he did.

I chuckled at myself and smiled.

Me: I'm glad he did.

Author's POV

As Dawn and Carly continued to talk about Justin and music and started getting to know each other, Justin walked out of the booth with his phone in his hand. Selena texted him, but he ignored it. She's been texting him ever since he and Dawn got together, trying to get back with him. But he loves Dawn and loves only her.

He looked at the lyrics for Die In Your Arms on his phone.

Scooter: Let's do one more song before we're done for the night.
Justin: Can we have a break before the next song?
Scooter: Ten minutes.

He nodded, shoving his phone into his pocket as he walked over to Dawn.

Normal POV

Carly got up from the couch.

Carly: Well, I gotta go. It was nice talking to you.
Me: Same here.

She smiled and walked out of the studio. Just as she walked out, I felt two arms wrap around my waist. I shrieked when I was lifted off the couch and spun around.

Me: Justin, put me down!

He put me down, spinning me around in his arms. My eyes meet his as my hands rested on his chest.

Me: Shouldn't you be working?
Justin: I have a ten minute break.

I scoffed.

Me: Since when did you have breaks?
Justin: Since now.

I rolled my eyes.

Me: You just wanted to talk to me, didn't you?
Justin: What do you think?
Me: That didn't answer my question.
Justin: It wasn't supposed to.

I shook my head.

Me: You're so confusing.
Justin: How?
Me: What you just said.
Justin: You still love me, though.

I rolled my eyes.

Justin: Stop rolling your eyes.
Me: Why should I?
Justin: Cause your eyes might get stuck.
Me: Um...okay.
Justin: I'm serious.
Me: Yeah, but still.

I walked away from him, sitting on the couch. He sat on my lap, his arms around my waist.

Me: Why are you sitting on my lap?

He shrugged.

Justin: I just wanted to.
Me: Get off.

He pouted. I tried pushing him off.

Me: Justin, get off.
Justin: No.

I finally pushed him off of me, his body falling onto the floor. I chuckled, covering my mouth with my hand. Before I knew it, I fell on top of him. I stopped laughing when our noses were touching. He smiled up any me.

Justin: You're cute when you're mad.

I rolled my eyes, getting off of him. I sat back down on the couch.

Justin: You're not mad at me, are you?

I pulled my knees up to my chest. He sat down beside me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

Justin: Please don't be mad at me, baby.

He planted a kiss on my neck, making me jump a little.

Me: Justin, stop.
Justin: Tell me you're not mad at me.

He kept kissing on my neck, making me tense up. As I tried to push him away, I fell back onto the couch. He hovered over me, looking me in the eyes.

Justin: Tell me you're not mad at me.

I sighed.

Me: I'm not mad at you.

He smiled, moving a strand of hair out of my face.

Justin: I love you.

I didn't reply. The smile on his face faded, forming a frown.

Justin: You love me?

I didn't answer him. He straddled my hips, his hands on my waist.

Justin: Tell me you love me.
Me: No.
Justin: Tell me you love me.
Me: No.

He started tickling me, making me laugh.

Me: Justin...*laugh*!
Justin: Tell me you love me.
Me: No!

He kept tickling me.

Me: Justin!
Justin: Tell me you love me.
Me: Okay, okay, I love you!

He stopped tickling me, smiling down at me.

Justin: Love you, too.
Me: You need serious help.
Justin: No, I just need you.
Me: Whatever.

He leaned down, capturing my lips in his. I kissed back, wrapping my arms around his neck. He slightly deepened the kiss, his grip on my waist tightening.

?: Ehem.

We pulled away, our heads turning to the voice. We saw Scooter, Pattie, and Justin's vocal coach looking at us. Justin got off of me as I sat up, wrapping his arms around my waist.

Justin: Sorry.
Scooter: Just get back in the booth.
Justin: But I have five more minutes.
Scooter: Well, since you're gonna end up making out with your girlfriend, I cut it short.

Justin sighed, kissing my cheek as he got up from the couch. Leaning back on the couch, I watched Justin walk back into the recording booth. Pattie sat beside me as Justin took out his phone.

Me: I would have told him to get back in the studio.
Pattie: I know, but Scooter doesn't want that happening.

I nodded, looking at the time. 11:30 PM is what it read.

Me: We should go. It's late.

I put my phone away, standing up.

Pattie: Are you ready to go back to the house?

I nodded. She got up from the couch.

Pattie: I'll take you back.

I nodded, putting my hood on.

Pattie: Justin, I'm taking Dawn back to the house.
Justin: Okay.

He continued looking at his phone. Wow, Justin. I shoved my hands into my pockets, walking out of the studio.

Justin's POV

I heard the door close, not looking up from my phone.

Scooter: Where's Dawn going?
Me: Back to the house.

I froze, realizing what I just said. I put my phone down and ran out of the recording booth, grabbing my jacket.

Scooter: Justin, get back here!

I ran out of the studio, running down the hall and down the stairs. I didn't even say good night to her. When I got out of the building, I saw her and my mom walking to the car.

Me: Dawn!

She turned around, facing me. I couldn't see her face, but I figured her eyes were wide. I ran over to her, stopping in front of her face.

Me: You forgot something.
Dawn: No I-

I cut her off by cupping her cheeks in my hands and kissing her. She kissed back, wrapping her arms around my neck. We both pulled away, a smile forming on my face.

Dawn: What was that for?
Me: To tell you good night in case you're not awake when I get back.

I felt her hand on my cheek, caressing it softly.

Dawn: You're so adorable.

I chuckled, resting my forehead against hers.

Me: I love you.
Dawn: I love you, too.

Before we could kiss again, we were pulled apart.

Mom: I think you two have had enough kissing for one night.

Dawn looked at me as she was pulled away by my mom. Scooter was pulling me back as my gaze never left hers.

Scooter: Come on, Justin. You have another song to do.

With that, Dawn got in the car with my mom as I walked back into the studio.

I walked out of the bathroom, drying my hair. I walked over to the bed, seeing her sleeping soundly. She twisted and turned, but not like she used to. I chuckled, tossing my towel back into the bathroom. I walked over to the bed, putting my phone on the nightstand. I got in the bed next to her, turning off the side lamp. As soon as I wrapped my arms around her waist, she flipped over, her hand on my chest. I smiled, kissing her forehead before I fell asleep.
