12. The dinner
Niall kept his promise. He took me to a fancy resturant and we ended up at the far end of the room. I understood that he didn't want the fans or the press would see us and we were private. I put the rose on the table and I looked at him. I tried to understand that this was the truth and Niall sat there, as a private guy.
"So what do your mom do now?" he asked nicely. I smiled and swallowed. I sat with a straight back and I had calmed down.
"She's at the hotel and she would go to bed early."
"And what did she thought about One Direction?"
I realized that I hadn't asked her. I had been so engrossed in my meeting that I had forgotten to ask.
Therefore I blushed and looked down at the table.
"We were more into that I would meet you. I didn't ask, but I think she liked the music."
Niall laughed and I saw how he took his hand across the table. He caught my hand and held it tenderly.
"And what did you think?"
I looked up at his face.
"I loved every second."
He smiled with satisfaction and rubbed my hand tenderly.
The tension dropped and in the end it was as if Niall was just Niall. I saw him as the guy from the internet and I saw him as a perfect person. He was funny, friendly and he made sure I was feeling good. We ate food and I was satisfied. Niall even ordered dessert and I was flabbergasted at how much he ate. Niall just laughed and looked embarrassed.
"I'm always hungry, if you are wondering,"
I leaned back and watched him closely.
He looked at me and seemed to ponder for a moment.
"You'll get used to my bad habits."
I met his eyes and I knew he was referring to that we would meet again. I blushed at the thought, which made him just smile bigger.
"Lilly, come on, it's you and I, a couple."
"But considering I'm just me and that we ...."
He interrupted me.
"Stop thinking so much., You should release all doubts and face facts. You have feelings for me, although I'm Horan? I have lots of feelings for you and it's because I love you as a person., You are perfect."
I realized that maybe he was right, but still I didn't stop to let my common sense be in my mind.
"You travel a lot." I got out of me as an excuse. "You've said in the newspapers that you don't have time for relationships?"
He laughed a little bit and ate the dessert.
"What would I say then, that I'm afraid of girls or that I'm talking about my girlfriend online? I chose an easy way out and that was to say that time doesn't exist, but the truth's something completely different."
I lifted my eyes and looked straight at me. I saw that he was serious about what he said.
"I will not let you go!" he whispered. "I'll have you t know that I'm the right guy for you."
He smiled rather sheepishly and raised one eyebrow.
"You don't know about all my plans."
I became curious.
"So you have planned?"
"In a half year!"
I didn't believe him and shook directly on the head. That made Niall laugh just more and he leaned toward me.
"I don't spend over a year on a girl and then let her go. Once I'm in love I'll stay and I will do anything for her."
"So you mean you ...."
He smiled and interrupted me.
"Stop asking, act instead!"
Niall paid for the food and I saw at the bill that it became expensive. Niall didn't seem to care and he took my hand as we left the dinning area. One car was waiting for us and he sat down close to me.
"One thing you must know."
I looked at him.
He smiled and took his arm around my shoulders.
"What happens between us stays between us., You don't tell your friends what we do or say. I don't want the newspapers to write lies or so about us."
I understood him.
He seemed already to know that he could trust me.
"So to the hotel or do you want to go to your mom?"
