15. The Unheard Conversation
"This stuff is really good!" exclaimed Rose as we sat at a table in the three broomsticks. "You've really never had butterbeer before?" I asked "I mean, I'm muggle born and I've even had it," I had pressured Rose to buy some because I thought it was just so good. "My parents never let me, but you say they had it all the time?"
At that moment, professor Mcgonagal entered, followed by professor slughorn and the minister of magic himself, David Brown. They were talking in hushed voices.
In sync, Rose and I both slid to the corner of our seats, into the shadows.
"I know Minerva" said David Brown "But she wouldn't, Hannah Abbott was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I saw her the day she was broken out. If she was a follower of the Dark Lord then I am a spotted dragon, she was just sharing his story with the world." "You should run an investigation" said Mcgonagal "If there is the slightest bit of evidence that she was doing something more then selling books, we should act upon it. We don't want it to happen again."
They found a table far away from us, far enough that we couldn't hear them any more. I really wanted to hear what they wanted to say but it was too dangerous. Rose turned to me, we both got up and walked away without a word, sharing the same nervous expression...
