It had been two days since I got home. My mum had picked me up at kings cross and then we took the plane back. My mum hated planes, I found it really funny how she, of all people, came to pick me up. She literally spent five minutes in London before leaving again.
I have been forced to spend every last minute with Hayley. Apparently she "missed me so much" that my parents had to buy her new toys. I was unfortunately playing Lego with her. "Let's go to the café Stephanie," she said while waving her figurine up and down on the playing board." I heaved a great sigh, this was pretty boring. "Sure olivi-" Suddenly, an owl flew through the window and crashed onto the Lego houses. Aluco then shot up and flew in circles around my head. I caught him and took the note. I then found two old bowls, filled one with water and the other with cereal. He sat down in front of the bowls and tucked in, he must be hungry after the long flight from London to Australia.
I opened the note, it said;
Did you get the letter? My mum said you can come down to my place on Wednesday to get our robes and books and stay for the rest of the holidays so we can go to king's cross together. Don't reply by owl, it'll take too long. She will apparate to your house Wednesday morning to get your answer. If a yes, have your bags packed.
The letter Rose was talking about was the equipment list. We needed dress robes! Apparently there was going to be a ball. The schools had given up on the triwizard tournament a while ago but Rose told me that students from Hogwarts, Durmstrang Institute, and Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, each choose twelve students from their school to visit the chosen school. Apparently Beauxbatons hosted an couple of years ago and Drumstrang went before that so it's our turn. I'm not a dressy girl but this is a wizard ball! Just like I read about.
I was so excited to get to Rose's, the wizarding world was where I belonged. I ran into my parents room. "Mum, Dad, can I go to Rose's house for the rest of the holidays?" "When would you go?" My dad asked "um...tomorrow" "Grace, you've barely been here two days," my mum said in a exasperated tone "I know what happens to normal people who become wizards, they don't see their family! They go off to school and never come back, I don't want to loose you Grace..." "Mum... If I go I promise I'll come home for the Easter holidays and I'll write to you at least once a week." "Ok fine, how much do you need? She said pulling out her purse.
Wednesday took forever to come. I packed my trunk the minute I was excused from my parents room and didn't leave my room until very early Wednesday morning because I had been reading. London was eight hours behind my time so I had to wait for a while. I sat on the bottom step of the stairs practically the whole day. I spent a while on my iPad playing the sims freeplay, enjoying the few moments I had left with electronics. I then went to the living room to watch some tv. Halfway through Dance Moms I heard a loud crack.
Hermione Weasley was standing in my Living room...
