I walked next to Nathaniel as the classes were now over. I never thought that trying to be like everyone else in here was going to be so damn hard.
But hey! It was my very first day and I managed to read the mind inside my teacher, she hated teaching this class and needed some vacations.
"Richer." Nathaniel said as we stopped in front of the dorm door.
"Yeah?" I asked looking up at him.
"What did the note say?" He asked.
"Didn't you read it?" I asked confused.
"No." Nathaniel replied. "I wasn't allowed."
"I don't think I should say it out loud." I replied. I grabbed his hand and spelled what the note said, he nodded and urged me inside the dorm.
Inside Keon was wrestling with Jared and Ax was cooking something. I was wondering why they were earlier than us, but maybe they have less classes.
"You're back!" Ax smiled. "Do you like chicken Richer?"
"Yes." I smiled. "How are you doing it?"
"Secret." Ax winked at me and I laughed.
"Reunion." Nathaniel said and everyone stopped what they were doing.
"What's wrong?" Jared questioned.
"Mr. Stalin has asked Richer to be next to us, to never leave our side." Nathaniel explained.
"That means that she isn't save here." Keon said.
"But I thought I came here for protection." I said. "How come I am not safe here?"
"Excellent question." Ax said. "But you have to remember that here, they protect the people with the power, they protect them from the normal people."
"But they don't protect us from the same kind." I finished.
"Smart girl." Mr. Stalin said scaring everyone. "Now, no one's to leave her alone."
"Who's behind her?" Nathaniel asked.
"I don't know yet." Mr. Stalin replied. "But I will find out soon enough."
"How?" I asked. "By trying to figure out who's trying to read your mind."
I tilted my head to a side. What on earth? Everyone inside the school knew how to do that, it was stupid to do that. Everyone was going to be a target if they did it. Plus, Mr. Stalin wasn't a mind reader.
Nathaniel nodded at me. He had been listening.
"How are you going to do that, if you can't read minds?" I questioned and everyone gasped.
"How did she find out?" Jared whispered.
"Obvious kid." I replied. "He hasn't said anything about the comments in my head, and he is my future prediction teacher."
"I know Miss Davenport." Mr. Stalin said. "But as you just said, I can predict the future."
"So you are going to see who is trying to read my mind." I added and he nodded. "But everyone is trying to do that, isn't that why I am here."
"Yes, but at different degrees." Mr. Stalin replied. "If someone really wants to read not only your mind, but your subconscious, it means they are not to trust."
"Should I teach her to block it?" Jared questioned.
"Yes." Mr. Stalin replied. "I'll see you all tomorrow."
I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. I smiled and walked to the kitchen, finding Nathaniel cooking, only in his shorts.
"Morning." Nathaniel smiled.
"Morning Nathaniel." I replied.
"You can call me Nath." He smiled. "I really don't mind." I made a face unsure and he nodded.
I was about to say something when Mr. Stalin barged into the dorm and locked the door, blocking it with the sofas.
I was confused, and soon enough, Keon and Ax were blocking all the windows. Jared came out set an alarm system, and before I could blink, Nathaniel, Nath, had me locked up inside my room.
"What the hell?" I whispered.
"They found you." Nath replied.
