26. Chapter Seventeen

I stared out the window on the plane, from what I overheard we are heading over to New Zealand. We are using the same story as before and then, well then we are supposed to keep even a lower profile. I don't even know we had a high profile back in Australia...

"Richer?" Ax said as he stepped in front of me. "What's wrong?"

"What isn't?" I rolled my eyes.

"Hey." Ax knelt down. "Talk to me princess."

"What's the point of doing so if I don't get answers?" I replied uninterested. "Leave me alone. I want to sleep." I added and moved to the other side of the plane.

Ax had a hurt face, but I needed for them to realise that they can't keep me in the dark, I have every right to know what the hell is going on in this world.

"Miss Davenport." Mr. Stalin said as I walked to the bathroom.

I let out a sigh and turned around. "Yeah?"

"I couldn't help but observe the way you replied to Ax." He started and I raised an eyebrow. "And I am sorry to tell you, but you need to apologise."

"Why should I apologise?" I questioned. "You're all keeping secrets from me. You should be the ones apologising." I narrowed my eyes and turned to the bathroom.

I wasn't going to apologise for wanting answers.

The plane finally landed and we were escorted to our new house, an abandoned mansion in the middle of nowhere, quite literal.

"Welcome home kids." Mr. Stalin said. "As you can you can see this house is big enough for each of you to have your own bedroom. You can choose whichever room you want, on the right side of the house."

"So we can choose wherever we want?" I questioned.

"Yes." Mr. Stalin replied.

"I want the attic." I said and took my bag with me.

I felt people behind me, and most likely someone calling after me, but I was mad at everyone as they all thought that leaving me in the dark was the perfect thing to do. Fuckers.

"Richer wait up!" Nath shouted as he ran next to me. "What is your problem?"

"What is my problem?" I questioned.

"Yeah." Nath said. "You seem kinda off."

"Well of course I am!" I shouted. "Everyone thinks that leaving me on the dark is awesome! IT IS NOT! IT IS NOT! IT IS FRUSTRATING AND I HATE IT!"

"Calm down." Nath said as he grabbed my arm. "I know, but Richer believe me when I say that it is for the best. The danger we are talking about is horrible, you wouldn't be able to sleep at night-"

"Do you think I can sleep at night now?" I cut him off. "I can't! Cause I don't know what I should be worried about!"

"You don't have to worry about anything." Nath whispered. "I will always make sure that you are fine, no one is going to hurt you Richer. I won't let that happen."

"It's horrible not knowing." I whispered back. "I'm so scared and I can't trust you guys fully because you are not letting me in..." Tears formed on the corner of my eyes.

Nath dropped my things and embraced me in a hug. He caressed my hair and hugged me tighter, he wanted me to trust him, but how could I?

"Please trust me Richer." Nath whispered before he kiss my temple.

"How can I?" I stared at his green eyes.

"Because we both know that I would never let anyone hurt you." Nath replied resting his forehead in mine.

"I'm scared." I whispered. "I don't-"

Nathaniel Shakur kissed me.
