21. chapter 21
Looked over to where Shank was still laying on the ground. The stillness made me wonder if he was truly dead so I poked him on the side and he stirred a little too where it made me at ease that he would not see what was going to be done to him.
“He is just knocked out. I made sure of that.” Arcum said and I smiled.
“Thanks for the confirmation.” I chimed and handed my uncle the knife and reached into my pocket to take out my pen dagger. I walked quickly to Shank and thinking that this was the last time I was going to see this place ever again. I placed the dagger next to him and retracted if I was going to do my first true kill instead of something out of necessity.
“Uncle, Do you still remember the honorable kill speech.” I asked and he stared at me in question.
“Why?” He dragged out and I rolled my eyes. I was about to stop right then and kill Shank but I breathed thinking what a horrible thing to end a dynasty that had spread through generations and stood centuries through the biggest test of all, time.
“The Creed is here.” I chimed and he seemed to get the idea of what I was saying. He nodded as I knelt next to Shank and his face was that of someone that was having his eyes closed instead of someone that was knocked out cold. I backed up a little thinking that he is waking up and I have to move quickly.
“Creed, accept this sacrifice so I shall live since I am a noble killer in your name and in the contract my soul had signed before being sent here to earth and knowing that I have to have my payment to you or I will return to you right then since I know I cannot outrun or outsmart a god like you so please except this kill…” He said quickly to where it almost sounded like a ramble as sounds of footsteps came obviously closer and closer. I quickly pressed the trigger on my pen gun to kill Shank on the spot while uncle Arcum finished the honorable kill speech. ”So I can live another day to strike in your name.”
