6. Chapter 5
I’m going to be honest with you. Paul walking in the room with me giving CPR to a giddiness within the first hour of the job isn’t really a good thing. Not to mention the boys of the band came to meet me for the first time and they see a girlfriend soaked and having CPR done to them. That’s an even worse sight to see, a loved one almost dead.
“What happened?” Paul screamed.
“Uhh…” I couldn’t speak.
“Perrie!” Zayn screamed running towards her.
“I’m okay. Don’t worry baby.” She said as she curled into his chest.
“Reyna! What happened?” Paul said turning redder than a tomato from anger.
“Uhh..” If I told the truth I would be fired.
“She was practising for us and demonstrating how to do CPR.” Perrie lied.
“Then why did I hear screaming?”
“Because we were acting and making the scenario seem more realistic.” Eleanor lied.
“Yeah! We wanted to see how she would work under pressure.” Danielle added.
“Is this true?” Zayn asked me. I looked at the girls and they looked at me to just go with it.
“Yeah it’s true. These girls are good actresses. I think El should apply for something.” I said. All the boys sighed in relief.
I got up and walked towards them. “This really wasn’t my idea of how we would meet, I guess this will do.” I said holding out my hand to them. “Hi. My name is Reyna. I’ll be one of your guards for this years North American tour.”
“Niall.” They said as I shook their hands. I turned around and held my hand out.
“Zayn.” He shook my hand while giving me a really dirty look. I then turned to Paul. “I need to speak with you.” He said. I nodded and we both walked out of the pool area while everyone else was conversing about random things. When I turned to Paul to tall, he already shushed me by the look on his face.
“I have two options for you Reyna. You tell me the truth now, or the truth will haunt you for the rest of the tour.” He said to me with a stern look. I knew he knew the truth about what really happened. That I failed to protect one of my clients. That she almost died because of me.
“Fine. If I tell you the truth, what happens to me? Or the girls?” I said.
“You either be fired. Or I’ll give you a lesser position, meaning you cannot be trusted with them, but you will monitor the areas we are in.”
“Fine. Do what you feel is best. Because I know that if you fire me, your defences will be weaker.”
“Looks like they’re already weaker than I suspected.”
“We’ll maybe you should hire a guard for each person and not make one person responsible for three.” I spat. He stayed silent. He knew he was gonna get the information he wanted.
“I was in the washroom. The girls were getting ready for the pool, and I guess Perrie just went to the pool instead if getting ready.”
“Then how did she get into the pool?”
“I don’t know. I saw a few people walk by me. Maybe they did it. But nobody was in the room when I dove in.”
Paul thought about it for awhile. Then he came to his decision.
“I cannot trust you with the girls. After this week, we will have new guards for them. Until then they are your responsibility.”
