Lou and I walked into the room we shared. We got ready for the pub, and an hour should be good enough. Once we got into the room, we had our normal conversation that nobody knows we have.
"So what did you think about the concert?" Lou asked me as he opened his suitcase.
"You did great babe!" I said to him as I opened mine.
"Then what's wrong?" Lou asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Come on. I can tell when my girlfriend has something on her mind. You can tell me." He said to me. I took a breath.
"Before the concert started, Rey texted me. She told me to watch out for our new bodyguards; She doesn't trust them." I said
"Okay. Is that all?"
"No… I think she's right." I said to him. He looked shocked.
"What makes you say that?"
"Back in the concert, when you guys were singing Kiss You, I had to go to the restroom. When I turned around to tell Theresa she wasn't there. I figured Paul called for something so I didn't think much of it. So I went to the washroom which was completely empty. I got into a stall, but then someone walked into the restroom, but they were on the phone. And guess who it was."
"It was Theresa wasn't it?"
"Right on. She had no idea I was in there, but she kept talking on her phone."
"Did you listen to her conversation?"
"Yeah. And Lou… I really wish I hadn't."
I knocked on Rey’s door 30 minutes after we split. I waited… but I got this feeling that made me really nervous. Why was I nervous? It was Rey, but my feelings for her were never this bad. The door swung open and there stood Rey. She was dressed in black skinnies, white sheer top, and black blazer. Her hair was up in a ponytail, my god she looked beautiful. She smiled at me.
“You should see your face!” she started giggling. “What happened to make your face change in seconds?”
“Nothing, just some thoughts on my mind.” I replied.
“Oh… well come in. I was just about to read some stuff.” She said as she moved aside to let me in.
“What ‘stuff’?” I asked. I looked on her bed to see a whole bunch of books and comic books scattered along her bed. There were so many that they almost covered the whole duvet.
“That stuff.” She giggled.
“How did you even bring all of this?”? I asked.
“I only brought a few comic books, but I bought most of these books today.” She said.
“Then how are you going to bring them back?”
“I brought another bag. I’ll just check it in or something.” She said. “Oh yeah! I wanted to show you this.” She grabbed a paperback from the bed and handed it to me.
“Here, she’s my favourite.” She said. I looked at the cover.
“Yeppers. Consider her the daughter of Wolverine.” She said.
“Sounds good. I’ll give it a look.” I said as I pushed a few books away so I could sit down.
“How long do we have?” she asked sitting beside me.
“Half an hour.” I replied.
“That gives us plenty of time to talk then.” She said in a tone that made me nervous.
“Oh yeah. What did you want to tell me?”
“Back at the concert, you saw me fangirl over the boys even though I said I didn’t really like them that much.” She started.
“Yes… so tell me why you lied.”
“A few months ago, well almost a year ago, I did fangirl over them.” She admitted.
“Then what made you stop?”
“Well, back home, my friends and I would jam to them, including a few guy friends. One of them happened to be my best guy friend. His name was Jay. One day, when it was just the two of us, he asked me out. I didn’t think of him that way, but I didn’t want to hurt him so I said yes. We ‘dated’ for two months, but I asked if we could take it slow. That’s why I haven’t had my first dance, or kiss with him. Some time during those two months, I started falling for him. One night, we went to a house party, and I was even planning to kiss him that night to kinda put our relationship out there. However, I couldn’t find him anywhere. I checked all the rooms of the house, then in one room he was there… with another girl. There was no alcohol at the party so he wasn’t drunk, and he clearly knew what he was doing.
“I was going to stay there and confront him when they got out of the room, but I ended up listening to their conversation. He told her that he loved her and not me. That she was the one for him and that I was just a disguise so his parents wouldn’t find out all the nasty things he has done. I couldn’t hear anymore, so I burst into the room and ended it there. You’d think he’d stop and apologize, but he just called me a bitch and told me to shut the door while the girl still had her legs wrapped around his waist.
“I ran from the party and cried myself to sleep that night. Everything reminded me of him, including One Direction. I stopped listening to them until now. I needed to tell someone because if I didn’t, I know I would have done some bad stuff on this tour. You’re the first person I wanted to tell.” She said to me. I could tell she was going to cry, I don’t blame her. Who would do that to someone? I’m gonna beat that guy’s face in when I see him, but for now I needed to be here for Rey.
“That jerk!” I exclaimed. I opened my arms for a hug which she gladly accepted. “I’m gonna kick that guy’s ass when I see him.” I said in her ear,
“I did already. Remember the video of me fighting a whole bunch of guys? He was part of that group.” She laughed.
“Can I take a few swipes though?” I asked as I broke the hug.
“Permission granted.” She giggled.
“Thanks.” Just then both of our phones rang.
“Jeremy, come down. We have to get our orders from Paul before we go.” Martin said on the other line.
“Okay. I’ll be down in a few.” I said. I hung up the phone. Rey did the same and she looked at me.
“Let’s go.” She said. We got up and left her room for tonight’s events.
