24. Chapter 23
We arrived at the arena an hour after i met all the other guards. They all seemed really nice, but i still kept my eye on them if anything went wrong. The boys and their guards went backstage to get ready. The girls and i went to find our seats. The stadium was already filling up. I could feel the energy of the fans surge all over the stadium. It's amazing how many girls came to see them tonight, and to think there are more concerts coming up too.
"Where are we sitting?" Paris asked.
"In the VIP area. I think you guys are patrolling the floor though." El said.
"Are you sure?" Theresa asked.
"Paul told us to tell you that." Danielle said. It didn't feel she lied.
"How about one guard stays while two patrol?" I suggested.
"Yeah, that seems fair." Paris replied.
"Then who stays?" Perrie asked
"I can if you want." Theresa volunteered.
"Are you sure?" El asked her.
"Yeah. We could rotate this position too." Theresa pointed out.
"Okay. We trust their lives in your hands." I said. Then i turned to the girls.
"Be good. Behave." I joked.
"We will mum!" They replied. And i left them with Theresa. As soon as i got to the floor, "I have to use the bathroom really quick." I told Paris.
"Okay. Let's go." and we used the private washrooms backstage. As soon as i locked my door, i whipped out my phone and texted Eleanor.
How you doing? I texted her.
We're fine. You don't have to check up on us like this. she replied almost immediately.
Listen. You need to be careful.
There's something about these people that i don't like. I get the wrong vibe when i'm with them. I told her. It took her awhile to text back.
Yes. Just watch out. And message me when you see something funny with her. I'll be up in a minute. I texted.
Okay. Should i tell the others?
No. Keep this to yourself. was the last thing i texted her before i shoved my phone in my bra. That way i would feel the vibrations of my phone if she did need me. And i walked to the foot of the stage. Paris was already there.
"Here. Paul gave me this to give to you." she said as she handed me wires and a walkie.
"Ear plugs so the music will cancel out, but there's a speaker in them so we can communicate. That's why there's a walkie on the other end." she explained as she clipped the walkie to her waist. i did the same and set the ear plugs near my ears so i could just put them on later.
"Where are we?" i asked.
"I think i'm here at the front. And you patrol thee top of the arena near the balcony." she said. "Do you want to switch?"
"We can at the second half. That's when the boys have their clothing change." I suggested.
"Great! We got some time to kill. Do you want to get a bite or drink?" Paris asked.
"Sure." We headed off to the food stands. i ordered a root beer, and she got some chocolate.
"What is it with you and root beer?" she asked.7 "It's just my favorite drink in general and to make cocktails with." I admitted.
"Aren't you a little young to be drinking?"
"I don't do it in public. Just when i'm with family. My cousins say i'm completely crazy when i'm drunk... which is rare." I clarified.
"Where are you from anyway?"
"Canada... Ontario to be more specific." I answered.
"We're going there too aren't we?"
"Yeah very soon. Where are you from?
"Oh cool!" We started talking about how different each place was. Then somehow we got to talking about random things. it was almost as if i knew her my whole life. It was great. Then-
"Hey Paul." Paris said into her mic. "Okay... we'll be right there."
"Time for the show to start. Let's go." she said. We walked down the hall to backstage. We were about to go our separate ways. until she called me out.
"I'm glad i made such a great friend." and she took off to her position.
