“But I see you with him slow dancing
Tearing me apart
'Cause you don't see
Whenever you kiss him
Oh how I wish that was me…”
We were at sound check for an hour now. And this is the time Reyna decides to show up with the girls.
“Hey!” El called out as she ran to the front row. Danielle, Perrie, and Rey followed right after. I noticed that Perrie had purple hair instead of her regular blond locks. I’m pretty sure the boys noticed because they stopped singing, and just kept looking at Perrie.
“It suits you!” Were some of the compliments she was getting.
“Did you girls get anything done?” I asked. Then the three of them looked at… Rey. I grinned.
“Let’s see.” I said walking up to her.
“It’s not that big of a deal.” She countered. Her hair was all up in her beanie.
“Still. Show yourself!” I joked. Rey removed her beanie. Her dark brown hair now had gorgeous purple streaks. They fell on her shoulders and she looked more fierce somehow, more… sexy. I felt my cheeks lift and lips create a smile.
“You look amazing.” I thought. She blushed, meaning I said it out loud.
“Thanks. I’ve always wanted to do it, but my dad didn’t want me to do it, so I thought I’d be rebellious on this tour.” She explained.
“He wasn’t joking. You do look beautiful.” Harry said quietly, but his mike was still on so we all heard it. There was an awkward silence for a bit.
“Okay let’s get back to work!” Paul interrupted.
“Hey El! Come up here!” Lou said. “You too Perrie, and you Danielle.” The girls went up on the stage and joined their boyfriends. The band started playing the music and the boys restarted the song. Their voices filled the stadium, and filled our ears.
The boys were amazing. Back home, this song was my jam. All my directioner friends would just song it because we could relate to it… until they all got boyfriends and ditched me. Believe it or not, but I’ve never had a boyfriend, let alone had my first kiss. When the boys were holding their girls in their arms, old feelings of being alone suddenly rushed back to my head. It’s like the song says, “Oh how I wish that was me.” I sighed. I just want to dance with someone. Is that really too much to ask for? Watching those girls dance with someone that loves them really reminded me of how I can’t have that happen. I probably looked envious, but someone tapped my shoulder. I turned to see Jeremy rocking on his heels.
“Hey Jer! Can I start calling you that?” I asked.
“Yeah sure… um… I was wondering…” he started.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Um… you wanna dance?” He offered. He looked so cute, blushing and smiling so sweetly. He looked adorable, the girl who would end up with him would be the luckiest girl in the world.
“Sure.” I smiled. I set my bag on a chair and he lead me to an isle where both of us could fit. The isle we chose was more to the right of the stage. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and he placed his hands on my waist. We swayed to the beat of the music, it was nice, one of the best feelings I’ve ever felt. I zoned out thinking about how important this moment actually was.
“What’s wrong?” he asked concerned.
“You look like something big just happened. What’s wrong?” he asked again. Well there was no point in not telling him.
“You’re my first dance. I’ve never been with anybody in my life. You’re the first person I’ve danced with that isn’t related to me.” I admitted. I felt him pull me closer.
“Well then thank you for giving me this honour.” He said, and continued swaying. We were actually rotating… until I was facing the stage. The boys were with their girls, and Niall was… comforting Harry. What happened? Harry looked up so he could sing the last line of the song. When he did, he didn’t just sing it towards me, it felt like he sang it to me.
“Oh how I wish that was me…”
