4. Chapter Four
To actually become a gaurdian angel, I, along with a few other spirits, had to go into "training." Pretty much we learn to not show ourselves, keep quiet, try to lead our person, which we call our mentees or patrons, on the right path, and, most of all, DONT FALL IN LOVE. If you fall in love or even had a slight crush on your mentees, you automatically end up in Tartarus. If you don't help your mentee down the right path, you go to Tartarus. If you show your mentee that your a ghost or even make a sound, you go to Tartarus. So pretty much, if you follow the rules, you stay a guardian angel and can retire in 3000 years. Yes, I said 3000. Then and only then can you "retire" for rest of enternity in Elysium. There has only been ten other guardian angels who got to the point of retirement. All the others have ended up in, yes you guessed it, Tartarus. Pretty much becoming a Guardian Angel and being one is the most hardest and impossible jobs in the Afterlife.
After what seemed like a few days of training, we began our internship. We got assigned to different Guardians who have been working for over 2000 years all over the world. I was assigned to this really old looking dude named Zackariah. He was a Priest in a Catholic church before he died, and he told me that it is easy for him to follow the rules since he couldn't date or marry before he died. Well whoodee-doo for him.
This is going to be a loooonng 3000 years... but hey, afterwards, I get to spend the rest of enternity with my mom....
Yes, I know, this is a REALLY short chapter. I know, they're ALL short chapters. I just don't like writing long ones. Never have. And I've had a shirt case of writer's block. I know where I want this story to go, but I'm not sure how to get there yet.
