"Maddy, I'd like to tell you something," My Dad said calmly as he stood outside my bedroom door.
"What?" I replied.
"Do you want to let me in?" He asked.
"Not really," I said quietly.
I looked around my room. I hadn't cleaned it in what seems like forever and the smell really showed it.
"What was that?" My Dad asked.
The thing is my Dad is one of those over protective fathers. He wants to know how I'm doing and what's going on in my life. What's going on in my life at the moment: not much. My Mum died just over 4 months ago and I have been taking it badly. I put on a good face for my Dad and tell him I'm fine, but I'm dying inside.
I slowly got up from the confutable position in my bed and walked towards the door.
"What did you want to tell me?" I asked, trying my hardest to smile.
"I have some really exciting news," My Dad said. "You are never going to believe who my new clients are?"
"Who?" I smiled, trying to act excited.
I didn't actually know what my Dad's job was. I was always a Mummy's girl and spend most of my time with her, he was forever away with his job anyway, so it worked out quite well. But when she died, I pushed him away. I know it's wasn't fair and still isn't, but I'm broken inside without my Mother.
"One Direction," He shouted.
I looked at him puzzled. "What about them? Sorry I zoned out," I replied.
"They are my new clients," He beamed.
"I don't get it," I said. "What do you mean by clients?" I asked.
"Well clients is the fancy way of saying it, but I am there new manager," He smiled.
"What?" I asked.
One Direction were the biggest boy band in the world, that was about all I knew about them, but even that small bit of information proved that my Dad must have been mistaken.
"Are you sure you aren't thinking of someone else?" I questioned, knowing this situation was highly unlikely.
"Yes Maddy, I'm positive," He said, his smile fading. "Do you not believe me?" His smile had completely gone now.
"Yes, of course I do Dad," I smiled. "Congratulations,"
His smile soon returned to his face. "Thank you Maddy," He flashed his smile one last time before walking down the corridor.
I stood in my doorway, stunned. My Dad the new manager for One Direction, as if.
