The 21th November 15 years after you’re born. They give you an identity. You have no choice. You can’t speak up. You suffer a brainwash. Your life depends to a computer system that decides your name, family, friends, job, likes, interests and friends. Isn’t that weird? Well it is. Luck. Luck is what decides you´re future. Throughout 230 years scientists and informaticiens have been working out a formula to create love. With no success; they´ve spend millions of Euros in tests.
Millions of years ago, when planet Earth was still orbiting love existed. It wasn´t created or destroyed, just like electricity. Love was natural. It surged between two “homosapiens” and lasted for a lifetime. Reading a book at school seems boring. But, reading the Earth´s history is fun. Learning about what happened millions of years ago is intrepidous and exciting.
Hello my name is Maia. I’m fourteen years old, and in three exactly months time all my life will change, all my experiences and past will be deleted of the system. No remainder of what I am will be left. I do have a family, or I think so it’s just that they´re all older than me and therefore are living their “second life” with their new identities. I´m alone.
All my life is doubtful. Every second breathing just seems another dream. Nothing is for sure, nothing except Peter. In fact, thinking about it, living a second life isn´t bad at all. The USAPTL, or Supremes create a perfect citizen to help our world develop in a calm and peaceful way.
“The Universal Space Agency Path To Love doesn´t leave anything to chance”. That´s the only thing you can hear coming out of them in any type of circumstances. Bombs, weddings, tragedies, miracles… they´ll just state “we don´t leave anything to chance” and, as always they leave every question with no answer except that one. It’s not that I don’t agree with the Supremes. It’s just that I don´t want to be brainwashed and forget about Peter. Peter has always been there to help me. He´s the strength I need to be able to keep breathing. Peter is the “materialized being” of being able to distinguish a dream from reality.
