"We want you to join Team Crafted." I sucked in my breath. This was the biggest offer that my friends could give me!
"I...yes!" I finally said.
"STACKS ON KACEY!" Mitch yelled. I screamed as my friends piled on top of me.
"Okay, okay, now get off! You're gonna crush me!" I pulled away from the Team Crafted pile.
"As the leader of Team Crafted, we have go take you through initiation." Adam finally said, barely able to breathe.
"Yes. No. Um..." Everybody burst into laughter. "Maybe?" Adam said.
"Aw, you guys know I love you." I said, trying to get out of initiation. The ceremony was absolutely crazy, from what I could gather.
"Fine. No initiation." Adam sighed.
It felt good to see Kacey again. But, after this week, I would have to wait another month, and then MineCon 2013 would happen, and then...the Team Crafted house! Kacey would be moving in with us!
I had to tell Kacey how I felt about her. I had been in love with her since we first met. And now was the time to tell her.
"Kacey?" I called into the room she was staying in. She was typing something on her laptop.
"Did you need something, Jason?" She closed her laptop.
"Um..." Shit. What if I wasn't ready to tell her? "...no." I finally said. "I just...wanted to see if you were fitting in okay."
"Aww, that's really sweet of you. And yeah, I'm doing okay." Kacey smiled, her eyes bright.
"Did Adam already tell you about the Team Crafted house?" I asked.
"No, actually. I don't even know what that is. Would you tell me what the Team Crafted house is?" She patted a spot on her bed, signaling for me to sit down.
"Well, it's a really big house that all of the Team Crafted members-excluding Ty, 'cause he still has school-are gonna be staying in after MineCon. And you're a part of Team Crafted, so I thought I should tell you." It looked like Kacey was thinking.
"There's...sort of a...dilemma with that, Jason. I have housemates now." Housemates? I thought nobody knew she lived in her house!
"Who are they?"
"Um...you don't know them personally, but you might know who they are." She finally said.
"Are you sharing your house with famous people?!" I stood up. Kacey looked at her feet.
"...yeah. But...nobody else knows yet."
"Who. Are. They?!" I said, trying not to shout.
Kacey stayed silent. "Just...just forget about it, Jason. I have housemates, and I don't want to leave them behind. Do you think they can move in a house next to us, though?" I groaned.
"I'll talk about with Adam. But not until you tell me who your housemates are."
More silence. "...I'm living with One Direction." Her voice was barely a whisper. "Don't start!" She stopped me from responding. "It was an accident! Niall was kicked out 'cause they only wanted British members and Niall's Irish, so he had to move and people didn't know that I was staying in my house and neither did he, so he didn't know what was going on when I opened the door! And then he accidentally saw my rib cage when I held up Zelda at one point, so he got really worried for me and then he punched the wall during a bad dream, and I treated it, and then he got an idea that I needed support to keep recovering from my anorexia, so he started Skyping with the rest and they made a plan so they could move in as well. It's not my fault!" I could see tears in Kacey's eyes. "Just...don't tell anyone. They'd hate me and kick me out of Team Crafted. I wasn't even in for more than a day." She sighed.
She was housemates with a foreign boy band. I guess the trouble for you doesn't stop when your mom is an angel. "That doesn't mean we hate you, Kacey!" I tried to hug her. "We know that you're a fan of them, and are we still friends with you?" I didn't want her to answer. "I'll just tell them. I know they won't mind. We didn't dump you when you told us you were a fan of One Direction, and we won't mind when you tell us you're housemates with them."
"I have to tell my friends?" A tear rolled down her cheek. I wiped it off. Kacey looked up at me, her different-colored eyes clouded with tears.
"If you don't want to, you don't have to. Just tell them that you don't want to leave behind your housemates. You're gonna be fine." Kacey removed my hand from her face.
"Thanks, Jason. You guys are like the brothers I never had. And you're like that brother that's on your side, no matter what type of shit I get into." She hugged me. "I need to get back to writing my story." I took that as my signal to leave. I smiled at her. Kacey looked up and smiled back.
Is this as close as I'm gonna get to dating Kacey?
