Penelope Jackson: Daughter of the Sea -The Beginning

Penelope Jackson knew she was different even before her parents dropped her off at some camp for the summer. But she never expected to be a second generation of demi-god. Now an evil is coming, something Penelope never thought could be possible. With her new friends Penelope must restore her father's reputation, by defeating the Unknown.

20. I dream again...and it's a good dream.

All I can remember is falling and a lot of granite pieces. I can hear all my friends screaming and then I feel like I'm on fire. I don't hear of remember anything else, and I open my eyes and its all blue and green and dark. I struggled to breathe but something inside me tells me to relax, and then I can breathe. I'm under water and I'm no longer in my battle armor, but my sword has found its way back to me somehow. I'm in a white dress and I'm laying on muddy ground, but I'm not dirty.

"Pen?" a voice says suddenly. I turn around and there is my father in a white v-neck and jeans. His sea green eyes look tired but he smiles at me.

"Dad!" I cry and I make my way over to him. He hugs me tight and I feel safe again. We are like this for several minutes and then we look at each other. It feels like we've been separated for years instead of months.

"Dad where are we?" I ask.

"The bottom of the lake." he answers.

"This is your dream not mine Pen."

"So you aren't real?" I say suddenly fearful.

"No  I am real. I am just not physically here, I'm apart of your subconscious. I'm only able to be here because you've thought of me." dad explained.

"Am I dead?"

"Far from it sweetheart."

"Where's mom?"

"I'm here." she said, appearing from behind my father. She wore white too, and her long blonde hair was floating behind her.

"How did I survive?"

"I think Jupiter was great full that you saved his granddaughter's life, so he spared yours, which we are eternally great full for." dad said.

"Dad did we win?" I ask, thinking of Brynna.

"Yes, and I am so proud of you. I am so proud, more than you will ever know."

"We both are so proud." mom corrected.

I look away because I'm starting to cry, this all feels real, it doesn't feel like a dream. Dad makes me face them, and I see tears in their eyes too. Mom wraps her arms around me and I fold into her.

"I am so sorry you've had to learn about your heritage like this. I am so sorry this has happened. I forget your only twelve." she whispered.

"It's okay mom, I learned being a demi-god is an occupational hazard, way back in New York."

Dad laughs as he ruffles my hair. "You should probably get back to your friends, its almost daylight."

"Will I ever see you and mom again?" I ask him.

"We're doing our best to come back to you and your brother and sister, it's just taking longer than we'd all like. I promise you Penelope, we will be a family again."

"I will find you , I won't ever stop looking." I promise them.

"Then by working on both sides, we'll get closer sooner rather than later." mom says smiling

"Can I still talk to you? When I wake up?" I ask.

"Of course, Pen, we're always here when you need us." dad answered pointing to my chest. "Always." mom adds.

"Give big hugs to your brother and sister for us." dad said

"We'll be together soon!" mom said giving me a kiss on my forehead.

I nodded and gave my parents one last hug before I kicked off and swam for the the surface. Back to reality.
