Yeah, I'm Gay || Hiatus

James was 15 when he first felt feelings towards another boy. The problem was that Alex, the boy he liked, wasn't gay. James didn't tell anyone about his secret, he was terrified that he would be cast out from society. Eventually, he told his best friend Mitchell. He supported him so much, and James wondered why he hadn't told him sooner. Unfortunately, not everybody was so happy about his sexuality. ________________ Author's note. I felt like I needed to write this, as there are not enough non-fanfiction stories out there with an LGBTQ main character. I realise that this is a touchy subject for some people, so I'll try my best not to accidentally and indirectly insult them (e.g. Make James say something like 'Oh my gosh Mitch you're so out of sync with all the gay boys. Like, look at this fabulous little munchkin puffball, his name's Troye Sivan, ain't his booty cute?').

'Class dismissed! I don't say that... Why am I saying that?' Mr. Rowen backed up the fact that he was the best teacher.

'Hey, Kayla,' James said, slipping her a piece of paper.

“Meet me outside the toilets at recess :-)”

'Hey, Mitch, I just need to talk to someone. I'll catch you up in a minute.'

'You okay?' Mitch asked in reply.

'Yeah, now go on! Hurry up.'

Mitchell reluctantly walked towards some other guys. James exhaled as he waited for Kayla.

'You put noses on your smiley faces?!' Kayla called. James grabbed her wrist and ran to a massive tree. It was the school's cliché hide-out- although it was mostly for people wanting to make out. 'Dude, we are NOT making out.'

'Kayla, I'm gay. I don't want to do that either. Are you and good at climbing trees?' James had already jumped up to grab the first branch. He hoisted himself up carefully, then extended his hand for Kayla.

'Like that's gonna help, this is a tree, not a sofa. You'll lose your balance.' Kayla made it up on her own anyway.

'The rest is easy, come on.'

'What? We can't go all they way to the top!'

'We can and we will!'

After successfully scaling the tree, James and Kayla spoke about sexuality and how James' parents reacted.

'Wow, I'm so sorry.' Kayla said truthfully.

'Nah, it's okay, I'm fine. I just hope it's better for you.'

There was a sudden noise coming from down below them.

'WHAT DID YOU SAY?!' Mitch shouted.

'Oh, shit!' James said. 'Quick, move! He's not as tough as he thinks he is!'

'I said “James should kill himself,” couldn't you hear?'

'I could hear alright, you fucking dickhead!'

Mitch threw a punch at the guys face. Blood dripped down his nose as Mitch kicked him right where it hurts.

The guy crouched over and whispered swear words.

'“Right in the baby makers”' Mitch laughed, quoting PewDiePie.

'Mitch! What the fuck?!'

'He said that you should kill yourself.' Mitch's nostrils flared as he stared at the guy on the floor in disgust.

'You didn't have to punch him!'

'He deserved it.'

The dudes girlfriend came running over in a short dress.

'David! Are you okay babe? Oh my gosh... Ew, blood.' She removed her hand from his face. 'Okay, who did this?!'

'That guy!' Somebody shouted, pointing to Mitch.

'I will fuck you up.' The girl- Poppy- commented. 'And your gay friend over there.'

'Dude, I can't hit a girl!'

'I can!' Kayla said and slapped her around the face.

'You. Did. Not.'

'Oh, I did, bitch.'

Kayla punched her harder this time, but in the stomach.

Mitch started to punch some other guy who called James an idiot.

'Mitch! Kayla! Stop it!' He yelled.

They eventually had to be stopped by a teacher. Everybody at the scene was given a detention, at lunch and after school.
