Yeah, I'm Gay || Hiatus

James was 15 when he first felt feelings towards another boy. The problem was that Alex, the boy he liked, wasn't gay. James didn't tell anyone about his secret, he was terrified that he would be cast out from society. Eventually, he told his best friend Mitchell. He supported him so much, and James wondered why he hadn't told him sooner. Unfortunately, not everybody was so happy about his sexuality. ________________ Author's note. I felt like I needed to write this, as there are not enough non-fanfiction stories out there with an LGBTQ main character. I realise that this is a touchy subject for some people, so I'll try my best not to accidentally and indirectly insult them (e.g. Make James say something like 'Oh my gosh Mitch you're so out of sync with all the gay boys. Like, look at this fabulous little munchkin puffball, his name's Troye Sivan, ain't his booty cute?').

13. Dreams

Mitch had been sleepy throughout the day, his eyes were drooping and his head kept bobbing.

'Mitch, you should go home, you need to sleep.' James nudged Mitchell gently.

'Huh? Oh, right.' Mitch stirred. 'I don't have my car though... Could I steal Kayla for a bit?'

'Thanks, bro.'

For some reason, James didn't like being called that. He hadn't minded it before he came out... Was it a side effect of being gay? Probably not. When he thought about it further, James realised that it made him sad, almost frustrated.

A side effect of the dreaded friend-zone.

James rolled over to check the time on his alarm clock. He had been thinking about Mitchell for about half an hour now, and he assumed that Kayla wasn't coming back.

James sighed and pressed his head against his pillow, trying to stop thinking about Mitch. He ended up dreaming about their wedding night.

James and Mitchell were smiling, hand in hand. Kayla was sitting in the front row, encouraging them both.

James' brain went fuzzy, and all he saw was Mitch. He heard only two words coming from his lips;

'I do.'

James kissed Mitchell, forgetting about the rest of the wedding.

'I do too!'

'James, wake up! I need to talk to you! James!' Kayla shook James.
