Usually Yuki never lets his temper get the better of him but the whole conversation gave him mixed feelings. As Yuki was walking through the cemetery, he let out a weary sigh. As much as he wanted to, he just couldn't be mad at God. No matter how hard he tried to be, he knew that he was just doing his duty. As Levi said, he's been losing lots of influence and couldn't afford to be undermined. But he could have been somewhat merciful. Killing the child of your most trusted Archangel is cruel. Right? As Yuki was sorting through his thoughts, he began to hum. The hum then turned into a beautiful song. The soul-wrenching words with his rich voice echoed throughout the cemetery. It was only then till he finished the song that he felt as if he was being watched. Yuki turned to see a tall man standing just inches away from him. The man was wearing a long black coat and brown worn-out trousers. The man's face was covered up by the hat but Yuki still saw bright blue eyes staring at him and long black hair that went down the man's back. For a moment, Yuki thought the man looked very familiar. For a while, the two just stood there, staring at each other. It was the man who broke the silence.
"Your voice..." The man said. Yuki raised an eyebrow in question.
"What's wrong with my voice?" Yuki asked. The man shook his head.
"It's soothing to those who lie beneath us." The man said. Yuki blushed a little by the compliment.
"And who are you, sir?"
"I am the keeper of this cemetery. I watch over the dead as they lay, and make sure that they stay within these gates. Your voice makes the calm stir, and the stirred calm. They all recognize your voice and they know who you are. The son of Michael. The dead thinks you are here to take them away so that they can be in peace. But that is not why you are here, is it?" The man's deep voice sent familiar shockwaves to Yuki's head. I've heard this voice before, but why can't I remember it?
"No, it is not. For I have only just found out who my father was hours ago and I have no idea how to use whatever powers I have. I am terribly sorry." Yuki bowed. The man chuckled in a deep low tone.
"You are too modest, Michael's son. You do not need to apologize for the dead's misunderstanding. I have something that might help you with your troubles. Follow me." The man began to walk away as Yuki followed, reaching a large tomb.
As Yuki and the man approached the tomb, Yuki saw that the tomb had a certain blue glow to it. At the entrance, there were two statues on either side of the door: A woman wearing a stola, carrying a large sword that was glowing brightly and a man wearing a tunic, carrying a large embroidered bow with the tip of an arrow shining.
"Step back." The man said. Yuki stepped an inch back. The man raised his hand and suddenly a blast of yellow light shot from his hand and landed on the door. As the yellow light flowed from his hand, Yuki's hand began to ache and become feverishly hot. Yuki shook his hand as if it was on fire. The tomb was now covered in glowing marks. Suddenly the door burst open.
"Come." The man said and stepped inside with Yuki at his heels. Before them laid two stone caskets. The man moved one of the stone lids just a few inches and inside Yuki saw the bones of a human being. The body was greatly decomposed so the only way you could tell the gender was from the clothing, which was very scarce on the bones.
"These are tombs of Drina and Iver. Two great warriors that defended human kind and were angels of war, just like you." The man said.
"But I'm a Nephilim." Yuki said.
"Yes, but your father's holiness took over the demon in you and it went into hiding. You can almost say it's hibernating at the current moment. You must release both and teach them how to live in harmony or else they will overtake and destroy your soul." The man lifted the bones of the corpse and grab something from under it. The man then place the item in Yuki's hand.
"Take this. It will help you unlock the power you possess within."
"But how do I make them live in harmony?" Yuki asked. The man put his hand on Yuki's shoulder.
"In time, you will-" Suddenly the ground began to shake and rumble. The two fell on the ground as the tomb shook violently.
"What's going on?" Yuki screamed under the rumbling noise.
"I don't know but I intend on finding out." The man said.
"The man ran out the shaky tomb as Levi ran up to him.
"Where's Yuki?" Levi asked. He was covered in dirt and his eyes were desperately wild.
"He's in the tomb. What's going on?" The man's deep voice rang through the air.
"The Archangels are coming. I think they know Yuki's alive. I have to get him out of here." Levi said and began to run to the tomb but the man stopped him.
"No. Both of you stay in the tomb. I'll handle the Archangels. Tell Yuki to put on the necklace I gave him. It will hide both your presences." The man said. He pushed Levi into the tomb and started to shut it. Yuki called out to him, " You never told me your name." The man stopped for a brief moment.
"My name... is Michael." He said and shut the tomb door.
