~~“A Nephilim?” Yuki stared at Levi with disbelief and confusion. Yuki looked back at the family portrait. He slightly touched the small boy’s face.
“Yuki! Don’t!” André yelled but it was too late. Yuki mind began to warp as random colors flashed before his eyes. His mind was out of control. Running, spinning, jumping, oh Yuki has never felt so sick before. He felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz on her way to another world. He was at the bottom of the cyclone now, almost close to being sucked in with its suffocating grasp. Yuki couldn’t take it anymore. So he finally let go and was sucked into the bottom of the cyclones with deafening darkness and the suffocating stillness in the air.
It was pitch black but no longer silent. He can hear the sound of ocean waves in the far distance. Yuki slowly open his eyes, only to see the calm colors of reds, yellows, and purples of the sky as the sun sets. Yuki slowly lifted himself up, feeling a sharp pain on his side. He groaned painfully. Suddenly Yuki saw something that caught his eye. It was gone for a second but then he saw it again. It was a figure of man walking alongside the shore. For some reason the man looked vaguely familiar to Yuki. Yuki was so disoriented, he decided to go to the man and ask how he can back home. As Yuki approached the man, he realized that the man is the same man from the portrait. His father! Yuki couldn’t help but be overjoyed and called to his father.
“Dad!” He cried but no reply came. The man continue to walk with a purpose, nothing disrupting his flow. Yuki became confused. Why was his father not answering him? Does he not realize that his son is calling for him? He called out several times to his father but there was still no response. Despite the lack of response, Yuki decidedly walked by his father’s side, going to some unknown place.
After a short while, his father abruptly stopped. Yuki didn’t understand why until he saw a woman standing across from him. There was a great distance between them but you could still feel the intensity of their gaze. Then his father began to walk at the same time the woman did. As they got closer, Yuki noticed a little bundle in the woman’s hand. Yuki’s heart skipped a beat. As the distance closed between the two, they enveloped their selves into each other embrace as they shared a passionate kiss. Yuki felt a little uncomfortable watching the two in their heated moment. The moment continued until the bundle in the woman’s arm began to make noise. The two separated from each other and soothed the bundle. Yuki finally realized what was happening. This was a scene from the past, a past where he was just brought into the world.
“Isn’t he beautiful, Hecate, my love?” His father said. Hecate slowly touched the young bundle’s face. The baby stirred.
“He is our gift to the world. Michael, what should we name our little one?” Hecate said. Michael softly touched the young child’s head. “Yuki for his skin is as white as snow.” He whispered. Hecate smiled gently. Suddenly, there was a sound of footsteps rushing towards them. They looked in the direction of the footsteps and saw André running towards them. When he finally reached them, his gold eyes were wild like a cat’s.
“André, what is the matter?” Michael said. André drew his breath and let out a sigh.
“The Archangels have come. Michael, they say you have sinned and must pay for your sins and indiscretion. They want to take your wings and send your family to Hell. Michael, you must flee.” Michael rubbed his temples and looked concern. He turned to Hecate.
“I refuse to let them have my family and I refuse to go to Hell. I’ll die for my family before I let them suffer!” Michael said, clenching his fist. Hecate touched his shoulder. “I will not leave you to face them alone. Please. Let me come.” Michael grabbed Hecate’s hand and kissed it. Michael took the baby and handed it to André.
“André, please find a safe place for Yuki. He has great power and can easily be detected by the Archangels. Seal his powers and put with a new family. He should not be involved in our own mistakes. He deserves to live like a normal child.” André took the baby and nodded solemnly. Michael and Hecate kissed the baby’s forehead. Suddenly, the sky began to show strange colors of gray, even though it was nighttime. A ball of white light appeared in the sky and beamed down on the beach.
“André go! They’re coming!” Michael yelled. André sprinted across the shore with the baby in his hands. When he reached the top of a lighthouse, he stopped and looked back. As he looked back, he saw flames appear around Michael and Hecate. The two lovers screamed in pain and sank into the ground, where a loud rumble shook the ground. Under the sound of the shaking ground was Yuki’s blood curling scream as he watched his parents fall into Hell. When the Archangels completed their job and left, Yuki dropped down on the spot that his parents where engulfed in flames. Yuki sobbed and banged on the ground with his fists. Suddenly Yuki began to suffocate, slowly being sucked in by the same cyclone that brought him here. Everything was washing away like soap on a car, flushed in the bottomless pit. Then there was nothing but darkness.
When Yuki awoken, he found himself in a dimly lit room. The room had multiple portraits of people that Yuki didn’t recognize. The bed that Yuki was laying in was a large king size bed with maroon and gold sheets. The comforter had weird patterns that Yuki has never seen before. Yuki notice that there was light on in a different room. Yuki quietly got out of the bed and went towards the room. When he opened the door, he saw that it was a luxurious bathroom with carvings in most of the walls. Yuki saw that there was water running out of a fountain on the ceiling that certainly carried the role as a shower head. Then Yuki realized the naked and soaking wet Levi in front of him. As the two made eye contact, Yuki shouted in surprise and quickly covered his eyes.
“Ohmygod! Dude I’m so sorry I didn’t know you were in the shower.” Yuki said, trying hard not to replay the images in his head of Levi’s muscular naked body. Levi chuckled softly.
“I don’t know why you’re covering your eyes. I am man just like you so it’s not like something you haven’t seen before.” Levi said as he wrapped a towel around his lower half. Yuki blushed deeply.
“I know that. It’s just that I didn’t think you were THAT big.” Yuki said, looking at the towel around Levi’s waist and then blushed again. Levi smiled flatteringly.
“Well one day, I’ll let you have a test run.” Levi winked at Yuki and walked passed him. Yuki followed him out of the bathroom and sat on the bed.
“I was honestly worried about you. When you touched the painting you collapsed and then had a fever. I was worried that you wouldn’t make it.” Levi dropped his towel and walked to his dresser but this time Yuki didn’t cover his eyes. He noticed how muscular Levi was. Everywhere. Yuki continued to stare until he heard Levi call his name. By now, Levi was in Yuki's face with boxers on. Levi made a border with his arms so that the only thing Yuki could do was fall back. Yuki blushed deeply as his and Levi's face were only centimeters apart.
"Since you stare has increased, I assume you want have that test run now."
"What? No! That's not it at all. I- I was just-" Yuki stammered which made Levi laugh. Yuki flushed with anger.
"Anyways, while I was sleep, I had this weird dream." Levi's laughter died down and then he became serious.
"What dream?" Levi asked. Yuki told him about how he saw his parents and how they went to Hell. Levi put his hand through his wet hair.
"Let's go talk to my father. He knows more than I do."
After Levi had gotten dressed and dried his hair, the two went downstairs where André was sitting on the couch, reading the Bible. When he noticed the two, he stood and hugged Yuki tightly.
"Oh thank the Heavens! I was so worried. How are you? Are you feeling well? Do you need anything?" André touched Yuki's face lightly.
"Yes. I do need something. Answers." Yuki told André about the dream. His eyes widened in shock at the story.
"Oh my. Looks like I have some explaining to do." André said. He put his head in his hands and let out a deep sigh.
"Alright." André said. "Where should I start?"
"From the beginning and don't leave out any details."
