"Was there anything in particular you needed to talk to me about?" Niall sat me down next to him.
"Those...things that Makenzie said about us to you...they're legit."
"Where did you find that?"
"Facebook. Makenzie tagged me and Lolo in some hateful comments." I showed him my phone. Niall quietly read the posts, a shocked look on his face.
"Oh my God...Abby, I'm really sorry."
"You don't have to be." I pulled away from Niall. "It's not worth the trouble."
"Yes, it is." Niall replied. "Honestly, with some of the stuff she's said and/or done to you, she should be going to jail."
"No one gives a shit about me and Lolo except for you guys." I looked at the floor.
"That part might be true, but you girls are a big part of our lives." I looked up at Niall. His blue gaze was laced with worry. For me, out of all people.
"I still don't see how you show any interest in my life, Niall. I know you care about me, but why? Why me, out of all people in Aliols High, you choose to care about a nerdy gamer who was bullied pretty much all her life?"
"It's because I can't stand seeing people like you getting hurt. Emotionally and physically. If I didn't care about you, then why would you be here?"
"What...would you say...if one of your best women friends asked you out?" I covered my mouth.
"Well, that would depend on who it was. If it was someone like you, that answer would have to be a hell yes." I blushed.
It was a little while before I spoke again. "What would happen if Makenzie or one of her friends asked you out?"
"I'd say no. What else, you think I'm as shallow as her boy followers?" That was true, the majority of the boys at Aliols High basically worshipped Makenzie and her friends like goddesses. It was really creepy sometimes. "I know you might not realize this, Abigail, but the thing is, I want to know a girl well before i ask her out. It's just gonna feel odd when I find out that me and her don't have anything in common." I rested my head on Niall's shoulder and sighed.
"I just feel that...maybe Makenzie's right. Maybe me and Lolo don't belong at Aliols High. And Lolo really is a bitch powered by cupcakes. And I'm just...just...just a loser who's never kissed a boy in her life." Tears fell down my face. Niall pulled me closer.
"Then you shouldn't listen to them. They're the ones that are bitches and sluts and whatever they said about you two. It's just because girls like you are really hard to come by, and they feel that you're too different." Niall wiped a tear from my cheek.
"By hard to come by, you mean like, genuine girls?" I sniffed.
"Yes. And you're one of the most genuine girls I know. And that, to me, is truly beautiful." I looked up at Niall, his eyes shining down at me.
"You're not lying to me, right?"
"Why would I lie to you about anything?"
Niall's too sweet to be in love with me...is he in love with me? That question was almost too much to bear, for anybody.
"Abigail, this is like a breakthrough for both me and you, I'm supposing. I know it's hard, for you specifically, but we all pull through in the end."
Dammit, Abby, just kiss him already! "Niall..."
"Yeah, Abigail?" He turned to me.
Just do it, Abby. This is your chance. I leaned in so me and Niall were in kissing distance. I quickly kissed him, square on the lips. After I pulled away, Niall had a look of astonishment on his face.
"Abigail..." A twisted thought started to grow in my stomach.
"I...I have to head back home. Lolo's probably waiting for me." I grabbed my purse and raced out of Niall's house.
"But, Lolo doesn't get home for another half hour!" Niall called after me. I ignored him and just kept running.
