"God, I'm bored again, Abby. What should we do?" Lolo flopped her phone on her bed, previously checking her Twitter page.
"How about...we sing something?" I sat up from my bed, trying to think of a song. We hadn't sung in a week outside of our school's choir class; my voice was dying to sing something other than Latin songs. "What about One Thing?" It was the only thing I could think of.
"Uh, hell yeah!" Luckily, we were both fans of One Direction, so we could blast their music without shame. One other detail was different, however. We were the boys' best friends, Niall and Zayn specifically. "I wanted to, but we could never find the time, ya know? I mean, with the four-day weekend we got going, we should make the best of it." With the second quarter over and exams all done, the school board decided we needed a break. Which was rare, considering our school was private, and one of the strictest in The United Kingdom.
"I got this." Turning on my phone and to YouTube, I quickly typed in 'one thing one direction lyrics'. I tapped on the first result. Lolo always covered Liam, Louis, and Zayn, while I was covering Niall and Harry. As the music started, Liam's face came up. It was Lolo's turn first.
"I've tried playing it cool, boy when I'm looking at you, I can't ever be brave, 'cause you make my heart race." We both replaced any mentions of girls with boys, just to avoid looking like we were lesbians. Not that we were homophobic, we just weren't lesbians was all.
"Shot me outta the sky, you're my kryptonite. You keep making me weak, you're frozen and can't breathe." Lolo's phone rang.
"Oh Goddammit." Lolo paused the video and looked at who was calling. "Never mind! It's just Zayn." Lolo answered the phone. "Hey Zayn! Did you need something?"
"You kind of read my mind." Zayn laughed. "Can I come over to talk to you guys for a little bit? If you don't want to, it's fine with me."
"Uh, hang on." Lolo covered the microphone with her hand. "Zayn wants to come over and talk."
"Can Niall come over?" I asked.
"I'll see." Lolo turned to her phone. "Abby wants to ask if Niall can come too."
"Um, sure!" Zayn said. "Niall kind of did want to talk anyway."
"Okay. Bye!" I could hear a hint of love in Lolo's voice when she hung up.
"Yes!" Me and Lolo high fived. "How long 'till they get here?"
"Dunno. It takes Zayn about five minutes to get here, and Niall's house is ten minutes away. So, about 25 minutes." Lolo went back to her Twitter page, and I went back to typing my story.
