We walked around town together, I showed her the most important buildings, and it looked like she was happy in New York.
I saved her twice, and she didn't even know it was me. I wish I could tell her, but I can't. Secrets have a cost, they're not free, not now, not ever.
"Want to get a better view?" I say and smile. She looks at me excitedly "Yes!"
"Follow me," I say and grab her hand. I lead her up a tall building, she seemed frightened by the hight, but I would never let her fall. The satires seemed to go one forever, maybe because I'm not used to taking the stairs.
We finally made it to the top and I lead her to the edge. I could feel her grip tighten on me when she looked down.
"I'm scared," she said wearily looking down.
"Don't focus on the hight," I say soothingly. "Look at me instead,"
She looks at me, I could see the fear in her eyes. She was really scared. But it all seemed to go away when she looked me in the eyes.
She looked from me to New York. She began to smile. "It's not that scary anymore," she says and hugs me. "Thanks,"
I hug her back. "I... I want to tell you something," I start, almost chocking on my words.
"What is it?"
"I'm..." I start, unable to finish. She looks up at me, with a confused expression on her face.
"I-I am..." I say shakily. Then I give up and looks away.
"Is something wrong?" She asks and turns me towards her. I shake my head, no.
"It was nothing," I say. She looks worried, yet confused in a caring way. "What do you want to do?"
"I don't know," she says. "We could walk around town," she suggests.
"Sure," I say and lead her back down the stairs. After what felt like forever, we finally made it down the stairs.
Half an hour later
We talked a lot about us, what we loved, our interests, what we don't like, what amuses us, even what's our favorite colors.
I was surprised when 'Spider-Man' came up under interests. I didn't know what to say to that.
After a while we were walking back home when we suddenly hear police sirens go off.
I looked from the direction of the police sirens, to find Peter was gone. In panic, I looked around for him.
What happened to him? Is he okay?
