6. Chapter 6
I woke up with a terrible headache. When I’d gained full consciousness, I found myself laid out on the sofa in Mrs Hudson’s living room. John and Mrs Hudson were sitting beside me.
“W-where’s Sherlock?” I asked weakly. “Upstairs in his ‘mind palace’ working on another case,” John smiled “How are you feeling?”
“Weak but I’m OK now.” I replied. “I’m going to put on some tea.” Mrs Hudson said with a broad grin. I turned to John “Why aren’t in Hospital? I lost loads of blood.”
“Because I was around,” John explained, “I’m a fully trained doctor.”
“Oh, so it’s Dr. John H. Watson, is it?” I joked examining my bandaged wrists. Later, once I could stand up, I went upstairs to see my brother. “Get out, I need to go to my mind palace.” Sherlock boomed. Then he realised it was me. I smiled “Thank you, for saving me back there.”
He wasn’t listening to me but I continued anyway. “You know, I came to you because I looked up to you and I still do now. Mycroft wasn’t really a good role model for me. But you…you’re just amazing. You’re my favourite sibling and you always will be. I love you because you’re weird and crazy and that you’re the reason why I exist.”
That end part was true. Sherlock was bored of Mycroft being all perfect and successful so he asked Mum and Dad if he could have a sister instead. And here I am. Kathleen Lucinda ‘Nancy’ Holmes, sister to Mycroft and Sherlock Homes. And I wouldn’t change that for the world.
