I spent the rest of the day in town gathering the supplies that we would need back out at the farm. By the time I got back it was dark out, and most of the kids should of been in bed. The younger kids lived in the actual house, they needed more protection than the older ones did. There were seven RVs out side the house, the older kids all shared them. I lived in the old shop across from the house, Caleb was a handy man. He was only 19 years old, but he could build, and repair anything.
He insulate it, and made it so that I had my own shower, and bathroom. There were no walls, but I didn't really need them anyways. I liked to be by myself, and the kids out here knew that. They wouldn't come get me unless it was an emergency. I didn't have to worry about anybody seeing me.
"What were you doing with them?" Caleb asked.
"I-" I started but, he cut me off.
"You were being stupid, you may be stronger than them now, and you may be able to do things that nobody else can, but you still don't have to poke at them. They can call the government on you. You need to be more careful, you know that they want you dead more than anyone else in this place." I nodded my head. Even though I was in charge here, Caleb always treated me like a little sister, he would always watch out for me, and make sure I didn't do anything to stupid. He was smart, I couldn't explain how, but he thought differently than anyone else I had ever met.
I didn't know him before any of this happened. He had just so happened to wonder into town the day everything happened. Nobody else would take him in so I thought I might as well. He turned out to be really useful, and handy around the farm. He was one of the only friends that I had anymore. Most of my old friends thought that I was a monster they were scared I would hurt or kill them.
For some reason I could not even understand Caleb wasn't scared of me. He knew that I would never hurt him but it doesn't mean I couldn't kill him by accident. I had a nightmare once, and tore the roof off of this place. Caleb had to replace everything, he knew that I could pop his head of like it was nothing, but he chose to stay close to me. In a way we both needed each other.
I helped haul in all the supplies to the shed out back, and then started to walk towards my shop. I didn't bother to turn the light on, I was so exhausted, I just wanted to fall in bed, and never wake up.
I threw the truck keys on my stand that was beside the door.
"Been a while" I heard a deep voice say. It didn't startle me I knew exactly who it was.
"What do you want Harry?" I asked.
"Maybe I just wanted to talk?" He said in a snobby tone.
"Cut the bullshit Harry" I said.
"I heard that you had a run in with Zayn, Liam, and Louis today?" Harry smirked.
"Yeah, tell them they need to work on their aim" I said.
The feelings for Harry were still with me, he was the worst of all the boys. With the other four I had been the one to end things, but Harry was the one who ended things between me, and him. I don't know why still to this day, he just left me, and didn't bother to tell me what was wrong. In a way I still had very strong feelings for him, but I didn't know how he felt about me. I could normally read people pretty well, but he was so much different.
"You shouldn't make them angry like that, they might just make a trip out here one night. They have been talking about it for some time, and I think today might have pushed them over the edge. I talked them out of it for now, but try to not poke at them." Harry said. He was holding something in his hand that put me on edge.
"What is that Harry?" I asked. I was trying to sound calm, but I knew he could sense the hesitation in my voice.
"Calm down, if I was hear to kill you I would of done it when you first walked in the door" Harry muttered.
I nodded, but I still didn't take my eyes away from his hand.
"Before we broke up, I was going to give you something for our 6 months, but I guess plans changed.. didn't they?" He said. The way he said it, he made it seem like it was my fault. It wasn't if it was he should of told me what the problem was.
"What do you mean plans changed" I asked.
"I found some things out" Harry said.
"What things..?" I asked.
I was trying to search my memories, but mine and Harry's thing was a while ago. Everything was a little fuzzy, it was hard to remember the old days.
The five boys were the only thing that stayed in my mind clearly, they never left, and neither of them changed one bit.
"Let's just say someone here shouldn't be trusted" He said. I had no idea what he was leaning towards, my mind was drawing a blank completely.
"Harry?" I asked.
He looked down at his hand, and started to slowly walk towards me. I was scared, but even if he did try to do anything I could easily over power him.
Out of habit I held my hand out waiting for him to place it in my hand, but instead he walked behind me.
"Lift your hair up" He said, and that is what I did.
I felt the tingle on something cold rubbing against the front of my neck, and then he stepped away. I looked down, and picked it up with one of my hands. It said Cam, on the front, and had diamonds all over it. Of coarse they weren't real, but I guess it was the thought that counted.
"Why are you giving me this?" I asked.
"Just because one of us gave up on "us" doesn't mean that the other one did... " He said stepping in front of me.
"What are you talking about Harry, please tell me" I said.
"Don't play dumb with me Cam, I know what you did!" He yelled. He went from calm, and smooth to angry, and aggressive in a second. He grabbed onto my left arm, and if it was anybody else I probably would of killed them then, and there.
"Harry let go, you don't want me to do something we will both regret" I said. I was trying to calm myself down, the slightest thought in my head could hurt him.
I couldn't control my self yet, and I don't know if I ever could. I didn't want to hurt him but he scared me.
"AHHH!" He screamed, and then dropped to the floor.
"Harry I am so sorry, you scared me.. I- I didn't mean to hurt you" I said kneeling beside him.
He was holding his head, "It felt like my brain was swelling" He said, it sounded like he was still in pain.
"You really are a freak, the boys were right.." Harry whispered, and then was standing in seconds. I stood up, and tried to dust off my hands when I was pushed against the wall. I hit my head pretty hard, and everything went blurry for a second. When everything came back into focus, I could see Harry clear as day in the moonlight from the window.
"Harry don't" I said. He knew what I could do to him, and I would if I had to. The kids out here needed my protection, I wasn't going to leave them defenseless.
He loosened his grip on me, and then leaned in. I thought he was going to kiss me, but he stopped right when out noses touched slightly. I could feel his body on mine, and his warmth was pouring onto me.
"You need to watch yourself.. things are going to be changing around here" He whispered. But I wasn't paying any attention to his words. I was looking at his lips, they were so soft. Out of all the boys he was probably the second best at kissing.
I wanted to kiss him so badly, but he hated me, what was I suppose to do.
I leaned into him a little more forcing him to back up, I wanted him to leave now. I didn't want to admit to myself that I still had feeling for him. He clearly didn't have any for me, and he proved that to me now. He would of killed me, and I wish he would to be honest.
"Harry.." I said stopping him before he could reach the door.
"What do you want!?" He asked. He turned around to face me, I could see tears welling up in his eyes.
"What did I do.. I want the straight up answer this time.." I said holding my ground.
"Why don't you ask Liam what you did.." Harry said and then left the shop. I wanted to chance after him, but my mind was in other places. I didn't know what he was talking about. I knew what I would be doing tomorrow..
