Once I arrived back home I immediately plopped onto the bed, exhausted from the day. I was thankful that I hadn't made plans with any of my friends tonight so I could just relax and watch some television. I groaned as my stomach grumbled loudly, ordering me to go make something to eat.
I dragged my body off the comfy mattress and into the kitchen, deciding to make myself an oven pizza. Grabbing the frozen pizza, I tore the plastic wrapping off of it and slid it into the oven. Once I was finished I went to my closet, changing into my flannel pajama bottoms and a loose fitting cotton shirt.
Just then my phone started ringing from the kitchen. I groaned and ran to go get it. I wondered who it could be. I hope it wasn't any of my girl friends wanting me to go clubbing tonight or something. I mean, I don't despise going to the club, it just wasn't really my scene.
To my surprise it was Lana's name that popped up onto the flashing screen.
"Hey Laurel, are you home?" she asked, her voice laced with urgency.
"Um, yeah" I replied a bit skeptical of her. Why would she want to know where I was?
"Great, I need to talk to you, it's urgent. I'll be over in about twenty minutes" she rushes. I don't even have to chance to reply before she hangs up the phone and the line goes dead.
I shrug, setting to phone onto the counter and making my way to the oven to check my pizza. It seemed like it was finished cooking so I carefully took it out and began cutting it up. I grabbed myself two pieces and my phone and headed over to the living room, sitting down on the plush couch in front of the television.
Once I was settled in I took the remote and flicked through the channel until I found a television show I liked. Luckily 'American Horror Story' was playing. I watched silently and ate my pizza, passing time until Lana came to my house.
About fifteen minutes later I heard a knock on the door signaling that Lana had arrived. I hopped up, abandoning my other slice of pizza and hurrying to the front door. I nodded at Lana as I opened the door, allowing her to come in. We both came back to the living room where I sat on the couch and she on the chair.
I turned the television off and looked at her expectantly, waiting for her to explain. I had never seen her so serious looking. Usually she was happy and carefree but tonight she looked stressed and a bit afraid.
"Listen Laurel, you need to stay away from Harry" she said. My jaw dropped, not expecting that to come out of her mouth.
"What do you mean?" I sputtered back in a flustered manner.
"He isn't good for you. You can't go near him, he'll hurt you" Lana said calmly, trying to defuse my own rage building up inside me.
I can't believe she can all this way to tell em to back off of Harry. I mean I didn't even like him that much and only accepted this stupid date with him because he wouldn't take no for an answer. But if Lana was so wrapped up into him and is just being a sore loser because he had no interest in her then that was a whole different story.
"What the hell," I shouted angrily at her, "You can't just come into my home and tell me who I can and cannot spend time with. I mean if you're seriously that desperate to get into Harry's pants that you're resorting to coming to my home and telling me to back off then you are really stooping low Lana" I rant on and on in her face.
"No, Laurel you don't understand I-" she begins to defend herself but I wouldn't allow it. She has the nerve to come to my home and tell me what to do.
"Just shut up Lana, get out of my house. I can't believe you. You really got some nerve" I said standing up and pointing to the front door. She sighed and slowly got up looking me straight in the eyes and glaring at me.
"No, you don't get it Laurel. I'm trying to protect you" she tries to explain again but I ignore her once more.
Ye"I said get out, I don't care Lana. You're just a desperate excuse of a girl who is so obsessed with boys that she would actually tell her friends to back off. Well guess what, I don't want that. Get out and don't ever come near me again."
Her eyes shone with hurt but she curtly nodded. I couldn't help but think I was a tad too harsh but it was too late to take back my previous words, so I stood my ground and waited for her to let herself out of my house.
She glanced back once more, looking me dead in the eyes before turned and shutting to door behind her. And with that she was gone.
I sighed an went back to the couch, chomping on my second slice of pizza and unlocking my phone to see I had a new message.
I opened it, seeing the name 'Harry' popping up on the screen.
*Hey El, it's Harry. Just checking to see if you haven't changed your mind about tomorrow*
I couldn't help but smile at his nickname for me as I replied.
*Yep. Can't wait :)*
He replies back almost instantly.
*Great. Goodnight El x*
I answer back with a 'goodnight' and feel a yawn coming to me. The events that happened with Lana really wore me out apparently. I abandoned the rest of my pizza in the kitchen and the empty plate on the coffee table and trudged into bed, getting under the soft duvet and falling asleep instantly.
