I slammed the door as I dashed out. I couldn’t believe that I came home to my family, only to find the one person I hated/had feelings for there. I couldn’t believe that Sebastian was there. Of all the things they could do, they bring him to my house.
Sebastian Smythe was the most popular guy in the school. He was the jock that everybody loved, but he constantly made fun of me for no apparent reason whatsoever.
Why? Why did they do this?
I was running down the street and I suddenly heard someone shout: “Rachel, wait up.” I knew that it was Sebastian, so I just kept going. But soon enough, he caught up and asked me why I took off. I simply replied: “It’s because of you Sebastian. I like you a lot, more than you could know, and all you do is treat me like a piece of dirt.” I was nearly crying at this point and out of nowhere, he kissed me.
Afterwards, I asked why he did that and he explained everything. He said it was because he actually had feelings for me too. I thought it was really cute how he was doing this, but I found it even cuter when he said: “I’m sorry if I upset you. I just got really nervous around you. I thought that acting horrible around you would stop me from acting like a complete nervous wreck.” I thanked him, flashing the meaningful smile that people rarely see. This made Sebastian’s face go a vibrant red.
After a couple minutes of talking, I lightly pressed my lips on Sebastian’s and asked afterwards: “Do you want to go back to mine now?”
“Yes. But on one condition.”
“We go back with me as your boyfriend.”
“It would be an honour.” Sebastian then took my hand and we went back.
When we got back home, everybody got to know Sebastian and you know what happened? They loved him.
In fact, they loved him so much that they were more than thrilled about what we were celebrating two years later.
*Two years later*
I stood in the mirror, admiring my floor length white gown. I was also counting down the minutes until it was official.
I was counting down the minutes until I was officially married. Married! I can’t believe that, at last, I am going to be Mrs Smythe.
As I walked down the aisle, I saw the smile; the one that made my heart flutter those couple of years ago. As I got closer and closer to Sebastian, I was so nervous that I swore I could hear butterflies fiercely fluttering around in my stomach.
Sebastian looked as dashing and handsome as ever in that tuxedo and he made me both laugh and cry when he read out his vows.
The time came for me to read my vows. I said: “From the moment I met you, everything changed. I knew I had to get you whatever the pain. I had to take you and make you mine. I know they’re One Direction lyrics but I don’t care because they relate to us and how we came to be a couple,” Sebastian smiled, “everything is so much better with you. You are the love of my life; my sunshine when it rains. I’m thrilled at the prospect of being with you for the rest of my life. You are my Prince Charming, my soul mate. But most importantly, you are my best friend. Thank you for making me the happiest girl in the world by making me Mrs Smythe.” I placed the ring on his finger and the priest declared us as man and wife.
After the kiss, Sebastian said: “I love you, Rachel Smythe.”
“I love you too, Sebastian.”
In the moment, slamming the door shut and running out of my house was one of the stupidest things I ever did. But in retrospect, I feel that it was one of the best decisions I could have possibly made. I only say this because the man of my dreams chased after me and now, that man is now my husband and I couldn’t be happier. I love Sebastian and now he is mine forever, everything feels right. I just hope that one day, we will have our own family and life will be even better than it is now.
