After I left Lavender and Niall, I arrived back home safely and just laid down on my bed, my face getting flattened by the Mattress. I had to wait until 4 o'clock just to go to work.
I checked my phone, Christopher must be home by now. I thought to myself and gazed up at the ceiling just to waste time. I kept racking my brain, thinking of what to do while waiting.
For the past weeks, Christopher would talk less. We would only have those short, awkward conversations and he'd end it by saying "Sorry love, but I'm not in the mood to talk." and would frankly walk away. I hate to say it, but I'm starting to get furious and seriously want to approach him and let him blurt out whatever is wrong with him.
Something is definitely bothering him, he just won't tell me... But I'll make sure to make him tell me by tonight. After thinking to myself, I finally figured that I should give him a call.
I grabbed my phone and tried to call Christopher up.
I heard the phone being picked up on the other line and Christopher's voice. "Yeah, hello?" He called out, hearing him stifle a laugh at the other end.
"Hey babe... Uh, are you free today? Cause I was wondering if you'd get home and we'll have a little time together, don't you think?" I questioned him and I heard a few fits of laughter at the other end. Mostly, a female's voice. "Huh? Oh, sorry Ashley. Don't have time. I'm with a bunch of my friends and we're planning to spend the whole night together. I'm really sorry, maybe another time?" He suggested. I just heaved out a deep sigh. "Uh.... Sure... Okay. You sure you can't make it?" I asked him, my grip on the phone weakening. The other end seemed quiet now. "Positive. Sorry love, next time instead? I promise we'll have dinner together in a restaurant." He vowed and I managed to crack a smile.
"That sounds like fun. Okay, bye. Oh, is there any chance you could tell me where you're going tonight?" I asked him just in case he needed anything. "Uh, I'll just tell you where when I get there. Don't really know where... Bye." He said, but before he go to hang up, I called out to him. "I Love you." I mumbled, trying not to show him how upset I was. "Yeah... Love you too." Then, with that, He hung up on me.
I took a deep breath and sprawled out on my bed, my phone slipping from my hands.
I don't understand. Something's fishy. Christopher goes out with a bunch of his friends but doesn't have enough time to go hang out with his girlfriend, who apparently is, me. I placed my hands on my face, trying my best to suppress a scream.
After a moment, I heard my phone buzz with the familiar tone of a certain someone. I sighed before answering. "Hello?" I tried to sound cheerful, not wanting Louis to worry.
"Yeah, Hey Ashley-poo! It's Louis. I wondered if you had time to do something with me?" Louis questioned at the other line. "No, I don't actually have anything on my schedule. What do you wanna do?" I asked him as I got out of my bed, I looked at the window to check the weather. Well, it's a perfect day for Lavender and Niall to go out. I thought to myself.
"Can we meet up in the park? The one where we had Ice Cream a few weeks ago?" He suggested.
"The Main City Park?" I asked.
"Yeah, that. See you later!"
"Hold on, what are we gonna do?" I prompted and I heard him chuckle.
"You'll see." Then, he hung up.
I scratched the back of my neck again. These are one of the reasons why I'm afraid of Louis Maybe he would pull a prank on me that's devastating to think about or anything like that. But, I trust him anyway, so what the heck.
But I wonder what we'll be doing?
I arrived to the meeting place with my beanie, a loose shirt, a pair of shorts, and boots on. I wore on a pair of sunglasses just to match up my outfit.
I looked around, Louis wasn't around. Oh, if these are on of Louis' tricks, I swear he's gonna pay. I chose to buy myself Ice Cream and ordered the Chocolate flavored one. I kept licking it and while I was enjoying my food, a pair of hands grabbed me from behind. He quickly covered my eyes and covered my mouth.
His grasp was too tight and I couldn't balance myself too well, which made my Ice Cream drop.
I tried to grab his hands and remove it, but it was no use, he was too strong. "L-Let Go!" I sputtered out, but he wouldn't.
Then I realized the skin as I touched it. I mentally slapped myself so hard in the face. "Louis, quit it." I called more placidly now. I heard his muffled laughter as he let go and I turned to look at him.
I looked at him grumpily, my arms crossed. Not a single sign of happiness was shown in my face. "Hey Ashley... Sorry about that. I just thought you were so cute." He gave me a small smile. "Louis, I thought I was gonna get kidnapped!" I explained to him softly and he looked to the ground, feeling guilty about it. "Sorry... I didn't mean t-to..." He uttered out and I couldn't contain my laughter.
"Just kidding Lou! You thought I was mad? Well, I wasn't." I told him, a smile shown on my face. "But still, sorry that I made you think like that." He apologized, scratching the back of his neck. "You don't need to worry about it, I'm honestly fine. But, I'd appreciate it if you bought me Ice Cream." I pleaded with the puppy dog eyes, bringing my bottom lip out, acting like a kid.
He jokingly rolled his eyes at me and grabbed his wallet. He walked to the Ice Cream stand and bought an Ice Cream for two.
He walked back, handing me my second serve of Ice Cream. "Happy?" He asked me and I nodded with a huge smile on my face.
We chose to sat on the bench, enjoying our own ice cream. "So, what's the plan?" I asked Louis, who hasn't explained what we were supposed to do.
"As you know, Lavender and Niall went on a date, right?" I nodded before telling him to continue. "Well, Niall told me you walked back to your place, and I thought you were lonely... So, uh, maybe it would be a good idea if I invited you... You know?" He explained nervously, fiddling with his fingers.
I looked at him, my eyes gleaming. I gave Louis a warm, thankful, hug. When I let go, I gave him a smile. "Thank you so much Lou. That would be one of the sweetest things a guy would ever do for me!" I exclaimed, a grin appearing on my face and he gave me a huge smile in return.
"With pleasure." He said and looked up to the sky. It would get dark soon. "Say, wanna go out and have dinner?" He asked me and I nodded, remembering my conversation with Christopher. "That would be a good idea!" I exclaimed and he lead me to his car.
We arrived to a restaurant, not too crowded. The food looked great. It felt really cozy here and warm. It feels so nice.
Louis and I took a seat in the corner and checked the menu. Right after getting our order, we chattered for a while about loads of stuff. Then, right after talking about stuff, I noticed from the corner of my eye a couple going inside the restaurant.
It was Christopher and another girl. They were holding hands. The girl had long brown, curly hair with dazzling brown eyes with long eyelashes. She was pale but stunning. She somehow resembled... Me. I didn't know if she was just a friend of Christopher's or she's the girl Louis was talking about.
Louis looked at the direction I was looking at his eyes widened. "Ashley, hide." He ordered and I tried to hide my face using the Menu.
What is Christopher doing here? Were they on a date? Was she the girl Louis talked to me about? I hate to admit... She was beautiful. No match to me. She seemed more mature than I am as well. I couldn't help it, I felt like I wanted to cry. But I can't just yet. What if she's another girl? "Louis..." I sniffed and he looked at me with sympathetic eyes. "Is that the girl?" I asked him and he nodded miserably. I closed my eyes, preventing tears from falling and opened them again. This can not be happening. I thought to myself, trying to act strong.
"It'll be alright Ashley. Don't cry." Louis tried to comfort me. "Take a deep breath love." He told me and I nodded. "I won't believe it unless there's proof." I mumbled and he tilted his head with a confused look.
"How exactly are we gonna do that?" He asked me and I placed down the menu gently on my side. "They'll be leaving the restaurant right after they eat, so I figured we'd follow them, no?" I suggested, thinking of the best method to get evidence. Louis nodded and our food finally arrived. We munched down our food, slowly so that we wouldn't gain attention from the people in the restaurant.
Then, after finishing. Louis and I checked the table Christopher and the other girl sat in. They were about to leave, which was great timing.
When they left the restaurant, Louis and I searched for their car and we found their car, on it's way. We tracked it down and reached their destination, which was a house nearby. I gulped and closed my eyes, wishing that this isn't what I was thinking of. We tried to stay out of their sight as we parked near the house. I saw the girl so-called 'Jade' according to Louis and Christopher run off inside.
Then, when I thought it was safe, we rushed out and ran to the house. Louis tried opening the door, which was easy since they literally left the door unlocked. "Who leaves the door unlocked?" Louis thought out loud and I shrugged. I walked around the house, it was a two storied house which is wide and cozy.
I checked the rooms to know wherever they could be while Louis sat on the coach, waiting for me just in case something might happen.
I stumbled upon a door and heard muffled moans from inside. "Oh, Christopher..." A female voice said and I closed my eyes, knowing if I'd go inside, things would look horrible. But, being the lousy girl I am, I bust open the door and directed my head to the bed.
I saw the most devastating sight... 'Jade' was on top of Christopher, half-naked, sucking Christopher's face and Christopher, my so-called boyfriend, was half-naked as well and was obviously enjoying it. Then, Christopher took a peek of who went in and his eyes widened as he noticed it was me. He pushed away Jade and quickly stood up.
"A-Ashley... W-What are you doing here?" He stammered out, his face reddened. "Well, I tracked down wherever you are and it lead me to this glorious sight." I explained angrily, tears beginning to form in my eyes. "No... Love, I can explain." He told me and I held up my hand.
"No need for explanations Christopher. We're through." I snapped and walked out, running downstairs and pulling Louis from the couch, going out. "No, ASHLEY!" I heard Christopher yelled but I just slammed the door shut in response.
I should have believed Louis... I should have believed that Christopher was an inconceivable cheater all along.
