I woke up and Christopher was not there anymore. I checked the clock, it was already 8 o'clock. I groaned as the sun rays hit my eyes. Ugh, I have to be at work in an hour I thought to myself and got up.
I noticed the note Christopher left on the bedside table, it said:
Hey there babe,
Sorry I couldn't wake you up this morning and that I left you alone in bed. It's just you were so cute and you seemed so relaxed while sleeping. Oh, and I had to leave soon, so sorry about that.
I Love You, I swear I'll make it up to you later :)
-Your man, Christopher x
The letter formed a smile in my face. But, I couldn't help but think about what Louis told me yesterday. What is it true or not? I shook my head, removing that thought from my head and placed the Letter in my Drawer and went to freshen up.
I figured if I wanted this to end, I'd try to consult someone that I could trust.
-Later in the Afternoon-
"Hey there Ashley!" Lavender greeted me happily once I approached her. "Hey there Lavender..." I smiled weakly, taking a seat beside her.
It was lunch break and the both of us were sitting on the Park Bench, eating whatever we had to eat. "What brings you here?" She spoke to me as I gazed at the ground. "Just thought it'd be nice if I sat with you." I admitted to her and she gave me a smile. "That's such a sweet thing to say!" She said as her cheeks grew red. Ever since I met her, I noticed she had fair skin-which was quite noticeable-that made her have rosy cheeks.
"Say, Ashley, I'm sorry if I'm nosy, but..." She started drifting off. "Yeah? You can tell me anything, I won't get angry with you." I encouraged her and she took a deep breath. She'd always be anxious about something, especially whenever she wants to ask you something that might make you get angry. She doesn't like making conversations awkward, one thing that I noticed her about her. "You seemed quite off today. You've been acting unusual and strange, is something bothering you?" She admitted, looking directly into my eyes. I accidentally dropped my food on the ground when she finished her sentence.
Her eyes widened when I dropped it and I patted her shoulder. "It's alright, that happens most of the time." I assured her before she could apologize. She nodded and pressed her lips, waiting for my response.
"You noticed that?" I asked her with a frown and she nodded timidly. "We've been talking about it the whole morning now. We were worried that something happened to you." She told me and I gave her a forced smile.
"Louis told me that Christopher might be cheating on me." I began, not regretting it. Her gaze quickly turned toward me and her mouth fell agape. "Let me finish." I said before letting her talk. "Then, when he told me, I didn't believe in him of course. Then, we had an argument. Then, I got mad at him, like I made him leave my house. But, I apologized to him that night..." I said, trailing off and finding the words to say.
"Then?" Lavender urged me to go on and I bit my bottom lip. "He confessed that he had feelings for me and loved me and tried to kiss me." I told her at last and to my surprise, she wasn't shocked.
She didn't yelp or gasp or anything at all. She just stayed still and smirked. "You just knew that Ashley?" She asked me, which made me furrow my eyebrows. "It was quite obvious from the way he acts toward you."
I shrugged in reply. "It's weird if you'd expect your Best Friend having feelings for you, you know?" I told her. "You've got a point. But, what was really bothering you?" She asked with a stern eye.
"I found myself liking Louis too, so I don't know who I should love. And who to believe. Louis said Christopher was cheating on me while Christopher told me he'd stay with me forever." I explained and she nodded, which is a sign that she's thinking of a good response. "But, I have one thing that's going through my mind Lavender..." I told her and she just looked at me with a confused look.
I took a deep breath before asking "What is Love?"
She turned to me and gave me a faint smile. "Love..." She looked up to the sky and it looked liked she was staring at an angel flying in the sky.
"Just hearing it makes me feel excited. To my own opinion, Love is something that you should cherish while you still can. Love is something that you share with someone who cares about you, who understands you, who makes you feel happy. Once you find it, you must never let it go, since it's like a once in a lifetime chance. You should experience it and you should enjoy it. Love makes you happy. Love..." She trailed off, thinking about the right words to say.
"Love... Is when you think about a certain person everyday. With that single memory of that person, even through hardships, you still smile. He or She makes you happy all the time, gives you another feeling, something really special. That particular person makes you feel special, like you are the only person he or she thinks about. Love is Happiness. Love is when you feel safe and protected. Love is extraordinary. Love is just simply a lovely adventure. An adventure of a lifetime." She finished with a wide grin on her face. A sparkle in her eye was shown.
With that long explanation, I could tell she's in love. I smiled to myself with contentment. It was silent after a while. "How about for you?" Lavender broke the silence, after finally snapping out of her imagination.
"What?" I asked, tilting my head to the side. "Yeah, what is love for you Ashley?" She asked me and I looked at the park, which was just right in front of us.
There was a family, a small happy family. A mother, a father, and a baby, not older than 3 years old. They were playing and having fun. I smiled at them, wondering if I will have a family like that.
"For me," I finally spoke after thinking about it "Love is when you think about someone's happiness before your own. You love someone no matter how many flaws, how much mistakes you make, but no matter what, that someone will love you with his or her whole heart. It his happiness. It is a journey. Once you experience it, you can never get out. Love is when you fight for the person no matter how many times she or he had already hurt you. Something that you should share. Love... Is when some fights for you no matter what. But, really... Love is when you accept that person no matter what. You don't check out the looks from the outside, but from the inside. You put aside that person's mistakes and imperfections and just look at how beautiful that person really is." I told her, thinking about who I really love. It's either Louis or Christopher.
"Is that it?" Lavender challenged me to think deeper. I looked at her, thinking about the main thing about Love. "Love is when you have a deep affection for someone, just out of nowhere and think of him or her every single day, not caring about his or her ugly parts, but only think about how beautiful he or she is. It gives you a warm feeling. You feel it once you feel like you belong to that particular person." I finished and she nodded. "Do you now know who you belong to?" She asked me and I looked glumly to the ground.
"It kind of made me realize something... But not just yet. Let me think about it first. Thanks for helping me." I told her, while hugging her. She nodded. "Who do you like by the way?" I whispered to her ear with a cheeky smile. "Niall." She said, with a deep blush and I smiled at her.
"Let's go. I think we have to get back now." I told her and the both of us walked back to the restaurant.
