1. A fresh start
It all started when my parents told me that we were moving to the USA. I was just 15 years old back then. My mom had gotten a job, and the whole family was moving in less than 2 months. At first the news was heartbreaking for me but then my mom said that I would get a fresh start and that I could be anyone I wanted to be.
For many years I have not been the prettiest or most popular girl in school and I have always gotten the wrong friends that did not treat me right. So the thought of getting a new start sounded great.
My younger sister Sabrina, and my one-year-older brother Daniel were both not very excited to move. My sister wanted to move more than my brother. My sister had just been diagnosed with diabetes and had been out of school for a while. She was only 12 when we found out. It was very hard for her to deal with and she cried her self to sleep for a whole month.
My brother was in a relationship with a great girl named Amelia. They had been dating for almost 6 months when we moved. I am very close with both of my siblings, we tell each other everything.
Finally the day came when we moved from England to the US. I had never been to North America; it was my first time going on a plane for more that 6 hours. It was very exciting and the whole family seemed to be in a good mood when we got on the plane.
My dad had told us all before we left England that it would be hard to keep in touch with our old friends and that many of them probably would not want to hear about our new life because they wouldn’t be in it. And we would miss many family birthdays and holidays. It was the price for moving over the Atlantic.
