"Oh come on!" I whined as I tilted my head back in agony. I was an extremely curious person when it came to surprised and his was driving me insane. He laughed as he started driving but still failed to give me a location. It took a few conversations and singing along to some songs off the radio until we reached a rather large building. "Woah."
I glanced up at the twinkly lights that hung around the banner of the building that looked Italian and extremely fancy. He simply smiled and didn't say a word as he guided me towards the door leaving me gawking at the beautifully decorated restaurant. "Table for two. Payne." Liam explained as we were standing at the front desk but I was still taken away by the high ceilings and people wearing fancy clothes. "Come on." He whispered into my ear and I realised a waitress was leading us to our table. It was locate right in the corner of the restaurant and was lit with candles in the table. It was simply gorgeous.
"You have seriously out done yourself Mr.Payne." I told him as looked over the menu. This place wasn't cheap. "You really didn't have to do all this."
"But I wanted to, and I figured you'd want to relax after the week." He said as he rubbed the back of my hand with the sweet smile on his face. He was perfect, he was everything every girl wanted and I had him.
"Liam you have no idea how amazing you are." I chuckled taking another look around the building and I could see him grinning at my reaction. He found happiness by giving it to others and it was a truly special trait.
"Are you ready to order?" The waitress asked as she moved over to our table.
"Well I am, are you ready Maise?" Liam asked as he held up his menu and looked over at me.
"Oh yeah sure but you go first." I bought myself some time because I actually he no idea what to order. I quickly scanned through the menu as he placed his order and I retreated to having fresh juice and spaghetti bolognese because it was the only familiar thing I saw. He must have noticed that I was frantically trying to decide because he questioned me straight after the waitress left about wether or not j had actually been ready to order. When the food came I could tell why it was expensive, the servings were huge. It was no understatement when I say it was double the size of my stomach, but nonetheless it was delicious.
We laughed, we talked and we ate. The date couldn't have been more perfect. Well I thought it couldn't be more perfect. "Come on I have something to show you." Liam insisted after he paid the bill, refusing to let me chip in. I chuckled as I took his head and he led to stairs that lead up to the kitchen on the second floor.
"Liam! So your date went well?" One of the chefs asked as he saw Liam enter the kitchen.
"Of course Peatro you know your food always puts a smile on people's faces." Liam winked at him playfully and the Italian man laughed loudly.
"Go on I won't keep you, everything is up stairs just like you asked." He ushered us towards the next flight of stairs which seemed to lead to some type of storage space. We kept walked until we came to a small door, I was utterly confused but amazed when Liam opened the door to reveal twinkling lights that were arranged all over the roof and the door itself. There was a small table with a radio and speakers that was covered in little lights as well. Liam smiled as he watched my reaction.
"You have out done yourself Payne." I laughed in shocked as I walked out onto the roof letting in all the fresh air from the still night.
"So I'm taking you like it?" He asked as he was busy turning on the radio and Snow Patrol 'Chasing cars' started to play through the speakers. I looked at him with a small smile as I shook my head at him. He walked up to me grinning as he took my hands leading them around his neck. "We'll do it all ... everything ... on our own." I gasped at his angelic voice that I wasn't aware he had possessed. He continued to sing leaving me in awe as we slowed danced to the song. About half way through the song I couldn't keep watching him sing, I need to kiss him. I placed my lips on his leaving him quite surprised but responding quickly as he tightened his grip around my waist.
"You don't think that I'm a psycho?" I asked after we pulled away and my hopeful eyes blaring into his.
"I could never." He told me using his hand to caress my cheek making me smile. He made me feel so at home it was unreal.
I got out of the shower being refreshed from all of my make up and my tight dress was replaced with a pair of adidas sweatpants and a White Tshirt. I wasn't quite tired yet so I decided to see if Louis was awake. I opened my window and sat over the edge as usual and threw sticks at his closed window. Soon enough the window was open and a groggy Louis was sitting in the edge. "Did I wake you?" I asked chuckling at his appearance.
"No I was awake but extremely close to falling asleep." He laughed as he rubbed his eyes. "How was your date?"
"Yeah it was good." I told him feeling slightly awkward to talk to him about it. "How was your day, get up to much?"
"Well unlike you I had school," He laughed in a teasing manner. "But other than that no I didn't do much I came home and did some chores and watched a few movies didn't feel like going out."
"Yeah I get that, well it's only two more days then I'll be back at school with you guys." I admitted feeling slightly anxious about the entire situation. Eleanor clearly still had a grudge and was out to get me but I couldn't retaliate otherwise I would be expelled.
"Hey don't worry about going back to school," He insisted as he must have noticed the look on my face. "Eleanor is not going to touch you I promise." He seemed so sincere and I genuinely felt safe around him. I know I should feel safe aroun Harry and even Liam and the other boys but I just don't.
"Thank you Louis."
"Is that why you like soccer?" Louis asked and I have him a confused look because I was completely oblivious as to what he was asking. "Because of your disorder I mean. When you are playing a sport like soccer it's easy to let out a lot of aggression and I was just wondering if that was why you play it." He somehow seemed to click on where no one else had.
"Yeah, yeah that's exactly why I love it." I told him smiling lightly.
"Okay well than I have an idea." He had a playful smirk smeared across his face and I had no idea what was going on in his mind. "Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday 5pm on the oval down the end of our street we are going to practise."
"Why?" I chuckled wanting to know what his plan was.
"Because, I'm going t get you into our schools soccer team." His smirk seemed endless but coach surely wouldn't let a girl play on the team no matter how good I am there are rules.
"But it's not a mixed team." I told him not trying to entirely crush his dream but just show him a glimpse of reality.
"No it's not but there's nothing that says it's not allowed to be." His playful smirk remained on his face. He knew exactly what he was doing.
"I'll give it to you Lou you've really thought this through haven't you?" I laughed and he just nodded.
"I'll try and get you in before the first game which is in about a month so I will teach you everything you need to know that will even give you a chance of getting in, the rest is up to you."
"I accept that challenge." I grinned. For the rest of the night we spoke about anything and everything just sitting on the edges of our windows hoping not to fall off as the cold breeze swept in between the houses. It must have been at least one in the morning by the time we stopped talking and decided to go to sleep. We made plans to go to the oval early and start training so he could give me the run down on what we were going to be doing.
It was 7am and extremely cold outside. I shoved my hands into my black Nike hoodie and tapped my feet as I waited for Louis to meet out the front of his house. To no surprise no one was awake so we both left our parents notes. "Come one we better get a warm up." Louis laughed and I could tell he was just as cold as he started jogging with his bag swung over his shoulder. I tried to keep my pace the same as his but he was an incredible runner, when we arrived at the oval I was panting like I had just ran a marathon where as he looked liked he simply went for a light jog. "You cannot be that horrid of a runner if you want to be on the team."
"Just ... give ... me .... a .... minute." I whales as I lent against the tree and he practically burst into laughter.
"Okay this training is going to be upped a lot. Every morning 6am we are going to run from our houses do one lap of the oval and go back until you can sprint it without breaking a sweat." He was trust that was for sure. I didn't really take him for a coach but now that he is training me he was definitely coach material and I can see why he is the captain.
"Are you serious?" I asked as I was still breathing quite heavily.
"Yes now come on." He zipped open his duffle bag and threw me a soccer as he started pulling out a ladder. Footwork drills. Just great. "One forward. Two forward. Two lateral. Hopscotch and in-in out-out. Repeat it twice whilst I watch your foot work." I stood there looking at him in a daze trying to put together what he asked me to do. "Well?"
"Okay okay." I mumbled standing at the end of the ladder. I started doing the drills just like he asked me to but then he started telling me to go faster. Faster and faster.
"You need to learn how to control your feet keep them right you are getting sloppy you can't be sloppy when you're tired." He ordered and I tried my best to perfect the drills and by the end my feet were aching as he made me re-do a drill everytime I did the slightest thing wrong. That only made me more tired. He ran me through dribbling techniques and some fancy work, we were only half way through but I was too hot to have a jumper on so I was left in my black Nike logo shirt and black sweat pants. "Now you've got skill and your swift, your light on your feet but couch also wants strength and stamina that's where you are lacking and you are going to need that if you are going to be the only girl. They will be relentless the other team will target you, they will think you are weak you need to learn how to use their strengths against them."
"And how do you suppose I do that?" I asked huffing and tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Come here." He ordered and I did as he said. He kicked the ball to me which I immediately took with my foot. "Now try and keep it away from me." He approached me and I immediately started dribbling it away and toying with it between my feet trying to confuse him but he eventually snatched it away from me and I glared at him.
"See you are trying to use your skill, that's not always going to work." He instructed as he kicked the ball back. "Give me you arm." He instructed as he stood next to me and I lifted up my arm. He positioned it and pressed it against his chest. "Now when I try and go for the ball you need to lean towards me and try to create as much distance between me and the ball."
I nodded as I fumbled with the ball leaning towards him and moving with him. He couldn't go around me. Nor could he push me because that would be a foul. "See you're quick learner." He smiled as he back away which caused me to fall in his direction but his quick reflexes came in handy as he grabbed me by the waist. I turned an odd shade of red as he held my too close for comfort.
"I-I-I'm sorry." I said as I immediately scattered away from him and I could see the longing in his eyes. "We've been here almost two hours." I stated hoping he'd get the idea that I wanted to leave.
"Yeah just go." He stated coldly as he started to pack things away and I could tell he was angry with me. I wasn't trying to lead him on in any way I truly do want to be his friend. But trying to be friends with someone who wants to be more can be complicating.
"Louis-" I said softly placing my hand on his shoulder but he immediately stood up ripping himself away from my touch.
"Don't say anything. Okay? I just... I can't help the way I feel about you but that doesn't mean I need your god damn pity okay? You are Liam's. I'm just a friend trying to help you out." He was quite angry but not yelling. The tone in his voice was harsh and I stayed quiet not knowing what to say. "Aren't I? Because if there is anything ... anything else there, I will kiss you not regret a thing."
"Louis, I have to go home." I told him as I took my waterbottle and my hoodie leaving him standing there in silence to pack up by himself.
"Well someone is sweaty, what the hell have you been doing all morning?" Harry questioned when I bumped into him in the way to the shower.
"Louis is my personal trainer sort of thing and he almost killed me this morning." I laughed but Harry didn't seem to find it very funny. "Oh come on he is just helping me out with some soccer skills!" I rolled my eyes at my brother in fury.
"Don't roll your eyes at me. I know what he wants from you and he needs to learn how to stay away from you."
"You need to learn how to calm the fuck down."
