As we sit in the car on the freeway I couldn't help but think about Cameron. I missed his sweet smile and the way he'd hug me. The time when he proposed to me a few days ago made me over the moon. It felt so guilty that I'm going on a date with Taylor right now. I'm not even sure if he and I are officially broken up yet..
"Don't worry about the Cam thing, Breee," he tells me while playing punching my side. I laugh. "Shutup Taytay, haha! I don't know how it's going to be like now with Cam and I," I reply.
"Awww poor Bre! Trust me, this date will cheer you up."
"I hope it will, or I'll get my money back hahahahaha!"
"Yeah right. Too bad I didn't pay you, my charm has!"
I blush. He really is charming. His rosey cheeks and bandannas make me smile. I liked how he had his own fashion sense and didn't copy how the Magcon guys dressed -- he's original.
His facial expression started getting excited as he made a U Turn. "We're hereeee," he says while getting out of the car. He opens the door for me, which I think is very kind. "We're going sky diving," I yell while I look at the humongous building. "DR0P Z0N3," it read while trying to block out the flares of light from the sun. "Yeah," he replies while grabbing my hand and opens the door to the building.
After Taylor and I sign a few papers, we wait in the Lobby in our skydiving get-up. "I-I'm terrified of heights! What the hell did you get me into now, Taylor," I say in fright while squeezing his hand from the nervousness I have. He laughs, pats me on the back, and replies, "This will be fun! I want this to be a day you won't forget!" Wont forget? What does that mean?? A million thoughts are rushing through my mind. Why should I be worried?
A man with the name tag of Diego walks into the room with a clip board holding a bunch of papers. He reads it out loud to us:
The DR0P Z0N3 is not responsible for any loss items such as keys, phones, or money. 9/10 of our skydiving employees are fully experienced with helping our customers reach the ground safely. Any bruises can be cared for in the nurses' office down the hall if needed, but it's a 80% chance that no one will get hurt. If your skydiving experience is not satisfactory, you can go to the check-in desk and ask for your money back. In order to get a refund, you must fill out a 2 page form that will take about 4-7 minutes to complete. You-,"
Before he could continue, I interupt him and say, "What do you mean 9/10 of you guys are fully experienced? Will we be getting new guys or the ones who've worked he for years?" "Well ma'am, the divers that will be helping you guys are unknown until the real flying. I can assure you that you will not die. If they do anything like pull out the parachute later than you want them to or something, you can always ask for a refund at the check-in," Diego replys. He continues:
You guys will be meeting up with our employees on the plane. They are boarding right now as we speak! They-,"
I can't help but ask another question, "Yes, uhm, why can't we meet them right now or at least tell us their names..?" He pauses in an annoyed face and replies, "The reason to why we cannot meetup / talk about our divers is because our schedules are crazy. We never know how long it'll take to get all the divers back to the ground and ready for their next clients." I nod and gesture him to move on with what he was saying:
Well, that concludes all the time we have with the meeting. Thank you guys for choosing the DR0P Z0N3 for your skydiving experience,"
As soon as he leaves the room the fake smile he had on vanished. A green light flashes in our room signalling us that it's time to board the plane. "You ready," Taylor asks me while putting on his parachute. "As ever," I reply in a worried voice.
