22. Good news?
Meg had just finished marking at the school and was walking up the road to her house. She grabbed her keys out of her pocket and unlocking the door, throwing her bag down onto the floor and flopping down onto the sofa. Then she heard the door bell ring. "Come in!" She shouted. "Hiya, its only me!" Joe said. "Hey babe" she said. "You alright? How was work? Did you settle on ok?" Joe questioned. "It was great, the kids were great, everyone welcomed me, I love it" Meg answered. "That's great, I'm glad your liking it" Joe said. "Listen Joe, I need to tell you something and you better not freak OK" Meg said. "What's wrong?" He asked. "I think I'm pregnant" she said. "That's great! It really is" Joe said, grabbing her hand and reassuring her. "Joe, I'm scared too death I don't want a baby so young, I've just started the job and I'd have to be off most of the time I'm supposed to be their, I'd only get 8 months working and wouldn't get a full years experience" Meg explained. "We can make it work Meg, cos I love you and I'll love this baby just as much" Joe said. "Its nice to know you'll stand by me, but I'm dreading finding out if I am or not" She said. "I'll go home and give you some time on your own, then you should think about doing a test and I'll come back and we will find out together" He explained. "Ok, thank you Joe, your the best thing a girl could ask for" she said, missing him before he left.
